Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mountain Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Beck Barsanti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barsanti has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mountain Rivera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Beck Barsanti!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivera shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Barsanti makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Rivera has his takedown stuffed
and Barsanti connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Rivera with a poor takedown
and Barsanti counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mountain Rivera. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jab, jab by Barsanti - just one landing.
Mountain Rivera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rivera misses with a takedown attempt
and Barsanti cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rivera tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Barsanti darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rivera doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Barsanti counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Rivera is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round.

and Barsanti counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Barsanti feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Riveras jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Barsanti cracks Rivera with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Barsanti has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Rivera to stand back up!
Rivera is rocked!
Barsanti scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rivera gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Barsanti scores with a counter punch that sends Rivera to the canvas! Barsanti smells blood - he's punishing Rivera with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Rivera has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Beck Barsanti!
