Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jake Foster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Junior Castro!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Foster goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Castro slips a jab and a cross from Foster.
Castro misses with a jab, cross combination.
Foster uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Castro.

Foster looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Castro is trying to control but can't.
Castro avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Foster.
Foster trying to pass the guard but Castro defending well.
Foster with the ground and pound but Castro uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Foster throwing strikes from guard but Castro blocks nicely.
Castro keeping full guard, as Foster tries to pass.
Foster with a flurry of punches that miss.

Castro working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Foster.
Foster throwing strikes but missing.
Foster pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Castro is keeping the position for now.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Foster's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Foster drops back, looking for a kneebar! Castro looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Castro looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Castro!
Castro tries to advance to mount but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Foster gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Foster is controlling Castro's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Foster has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Foster tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Castro has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Foster gets back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Foster wants to get back to full guard.
Castro is trying to control. Foster wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Foster gets full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Castro is looking to stand up but Foster won't let him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Castro trying to control but Foster is working from the bottom.

Foster looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Foster is trying to keep Castro in close.
Foster looking to hit a scissor sweep but Castro is one step ahead there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Foster is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Castro is aware though and is defending well.
Foster trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Foster looking for a guillotine here but Castro defends easily.
Foster trying to control the position here.
Foster not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Foster dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Castro misses with a double jab

and Foster counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Foster has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Foster trying to control the position from guard on top but Castro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Castro wants to stand up but Foster is controlling him.
Foster postures up in Castro's guard and throws a big left but Castro blocks it.
Foster trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Foster loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Foster sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Castro's guard.
Foster working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Foster is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Castro keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Foster trying to mount his opponent but Castro defends it.
Foster not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Castro blocking the ground and pound attempt from Foster.
Foster throwing shots but Castro is blocking nicely.
Foster landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Foster trying to pass the guard but Castro defending well.
Foster throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Foster trying to mount his opponent but Castro defends it.

Foster sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Castro defending well though.
Foster seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Foster is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Castro is breathing heavily.

Foster goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Castro is on top in guard.

Foster uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Foster shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Foster was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Foster unloads with some shots from mount but Castro bucks and avoids them well.
Foster sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Foster working the ground and pound effectively.
Foster throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Castro holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Foster tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Foster cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Foster throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Foster lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Castro hang on?


Castro is rocked!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Foster loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Castro scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Foster land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Foster stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jake Foster!
