Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Scott Beauvais (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scuba Stevess (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Scott Beauvais! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Scuba Stevess! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beauvais avoids the head kick by Stevess.
Stevess swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Beauvais makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Beauvais moves to clinch but Stevess breaks away and Stevess counters with a three punch combo that has Beauvais backing up. Beauvais nods at Stevess to acknowledge the strikes. Scuba Stevess seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stevess keeps the fight on the outside. Beauvais closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Stevess is trying to buck Beauvais off. Beauvais just content to control the position. Beauvais prevents Stevess from escaping the position. Beauvais throwing shots but missing, from side control. Stevess tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Stevess blocking the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stevess is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Stevess looks gassed! Beauvais controlling the pace for now. Beauvais sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Beauvais controlling from mount. Stevess defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Beauvais. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Beauvais looking to control and managing it successfully. Stevess holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Beauvais tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Beauvais is in the full mount, landing strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beauvais looking to secure an arm triangle but Stevess defends it well. A nice elbow there by Beauvais. Beauvais breaks from Stevess's wrist control and lands an elbow. Beauvais lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Stevess really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beauvais. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Beauvais takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Beauvais trying to control but Stevess is having none of it. That's four minutes gone in the round. Beauvais can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Stevess is looking to escape. Poor strikes thrown by Beauvais there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Stevess is trying to stand but he's just given Beauvais his back. Beauvais controls the action. Beauvais tries to get the hooks in deep but Stevess pushed the leg off. Beauvais is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Stevess defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Beauvais tries to close the distance and clinch but Stevess swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A jab from Beauvais does it's job there. Stevess rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Beauvais counters with a nice double leg into side control. Stevess won't be happy with that. Beauvais has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Stevess wants to get back to his feet. Beauvais is looking to take a break and control but Stevess is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stevess wants to get back to his feet. Stevess is breathing heavily. Stevess is not content to let Beauvais control the position. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Stevess parries the strikes from Beauvais easily there. Beauvais is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Stevess to escape.
Beauvais is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Stevess's shoulder. That is not cool. Beauvais tries to move to mount but Stevess blocks the move with his legs.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Scott Beauvais just wasn't active enough. Beauvais closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Stevess's guard. Beauvais trying to control the position from guard on top but Stevess is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Beauvais thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Stevess wants to get back to his feet but Beauvais is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Beauvais is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Stevess is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Stevess has escaped and now he's on top! Stevess postures up.
Stevess must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beauvais controlling Stevess's posture. Stevess stands up from Beauvais's guard - Stevess perhaps looking for a knockout. Stevess throws a leg kick but Beauvais checks it. Beauvais closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Beauvais jumps guard and drags Stevess to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Beauvais is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stevess defends well. Beauvais not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Beauvais wants to sweep here but Stevess controlling him for the moment. Beauvais bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Stevess's guard. Beauvais in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Beauvais won't allow Stevess to get back to his feet. Beauvais thows a big elbow that misses. Beauvais thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Beauvais engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Beauvais counters with a takedown into side control. Beauvais controls the position. Stevess wants to get back to his feet but Beauvais drags him back down. Beauvais lands an elbow. Stevess is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Beauvais asserts his dominance and retains side control. Beauvais is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Stevess is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Beauvais misses with the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stevess wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Stevess takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Beauvais advances to full mount. Stevess has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever. Beauvais lands a shot to the body. Beauvais is controlling the position but Stevess somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.

He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Stevess for as long as he can get away with. Beauvais is landing with some decent strikes but Stevess is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Beauvais controlling from the full mount. Stevess breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Beauvais manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Stevess on his heels. He'll look to pass Stevess's guard now, I'm sure. Beauvais pushing down on Stevess's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Beauvais controlling the action here. Beauvais escapes and gets back to his feet. Stevess throws a combination that misses and Beauvais counters with a nice double leg into guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Stevess can't keep his opponent in guard - Beauvais advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Beauvais wants to take a breather but Stevess is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The strikes coming from Beauvais are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Beauvais has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Stevess is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Beauvais yanks on the arm and Stevess is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission!
