Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Falaris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Holder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Falaris comes to the cage accompanied by Single Ladies - Brazilian Version. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Falaris! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luke Holder! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Kavanagh and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Holder takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Holder misses with a low kick as Falaris jumps back. Falaris lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Holder circles away quickly and effectively. Holder tries to work over Falaris's front leg with a kick but Falaris checks it. Falaris cracks Holder with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Holder thows a leg kick but Falaris checks it and Falaris counters with a head kick. That will keep Holder thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Holder tries to close the distance and clinch but Falaris swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Holder throws a body kick the misses and Falaris counters with a one-two to the body. Holder tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Falaris throws a head kick that Holder semi-blocks.

That's one minute gone in the round. Holder lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Holder throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Falaris counters with a nice kick to the body. Falaris throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Holder is looking to clinch but Falaris is avoiding it.

Falaris fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Holder. A head kick misses from Falaris. Holder blocks a head kick by Falaris.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Falaris lands with a nice body punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Holder pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Holder takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Falaris misses with a head kick.
Holder lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. A low kick from Holder is predictable there and Falaris makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. A solid leg kick lands there for Falaris.
Falaris goes for a high kick. It partially lands. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Falaris lands with an overhand left.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Holder looks to clinch and Falaris makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Holder really felt that one! Falaris jabs Holder to the body, keeping him at a distance. Falaris feints and then cracks Holder's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Holder down. Holder looks gassed! Falaris throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Falaris lands with a shot to the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Falaris dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Holder. That did some damage! Falaris misses with a head kick.

Holder looks to throw a body kick and Falaris counters with a nice body shot. Falaris lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Holder circles away quickly and effectively. Falaris lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Holder at a distance.
Falaris is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Falaris tries a head kick but it misses.
Falaris misses with a body kick. Falaris lands a jab to Holder's midsection. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Falaris throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Holder's head. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Falaris, right into the meat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Falaris dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Holder throws a leg kick and Falaris finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Falaris looks for the body kick but Holder saw that one coming. Falaris lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Holder tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Falaris counters with a nice body kick. Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Holder might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Falaris has got the better of the exchanges. Falaris throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Falaris throws a lazy head kick and Holder counters with an outside leg kick.
Holder shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Holder was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Falaris really wants to buck Holder off and get back to his feet. Holder trying to control but he's not successful this time. Falaris is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Holder controlling the position easily from mount. Falaris wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Holder.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Holder tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. You get the feeling that Falaris really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Falaris is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Falaris's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Holder controlling from the full mount. Falaris really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Falaris is trying to stand up. Holder throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Falaris trying desperately to get to his feet.

Luke Holder showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action!
Falaris lands a head kick. Holder smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Holder connects with a high kick. Holder shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Falaris lands a nice leg kick that just misses Holder's sensitive parts. Falaris is looking to wear down Holder with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Falaris checks a leg kick nicely. Falaris connects with a right hand. Holder shakes it off.

Falaris throws a sloppy head kick and Holder counters with a nice body kick. Falaris lands a nice leg kick that just misses Holder's sensitive parts. Holder blocks a head kick by Falaris.
Falaris misses the body punch and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Marcus Falaris is winning the standup battle so far. Holder is looking to clinch. Holder is looking to clinch. Falaris misses with a low kick. Holder's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Falaris throws a low kick but Holder avoids it. Holder looks to throw a body kick and Falaris counters with a stiff right hand. Holder tries to land a body kick The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. and Falaris counters with a head kick. That will keep Holder thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Holder fails with an attempt to clinch.
Holder tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Falaris manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Falaris throws a looping overhand right but Holder ducks down to avoid it. Falaris throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Holder counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Holder. Holder misses with an elbow strike.

Holder keeps control of Falaris as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Falaris has had enough of the clinch but Holder keeps him there for the moment. Falaris wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Falaris wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Falaris tries to break free but Holder pushes him back against the cage. Holder has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Falaris. Falaris wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Holder keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Falaris's efforts to push away. Holder pushes Falaris back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Falaris is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close third round but Luke Holder just about did enough to take it. That's time! Falaris's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

A head kick by Falaris misses and Holder counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Falaris throws a leg kick that is checked and Holder holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Falaris is trying to break free. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Holder misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Falaris.

That's one minute gone in the round. Holder's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Holder misses with an elbow over the top. Holder throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Holder crunches a lovely knee into Falaris's ribcage. Holder creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Falaris wants to break the clinch but can't.
Falaris avoids a wild elbow strike from Holder. Holder lands an elbow that stopped Falaris in his tracks for a moment. Holder lands an elbow inside that Falaris shrugs off. With the fighters up against the cage, Holder throws an elbow but misses. Holder tries to land knees in the clinch but Falaris avoids the damage to the body. Falaris is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Holder tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Falaris avoids it. Holder slows down the pace here.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Holder lands with an overhand left. Falaris throws a leg kick and Holder counters with a thumping low kick. Falaris misses with a low kick.
Holder throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Falaris sees it coming and avoids it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Holder throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Falaris is looking to land body kicks. Holder stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Falaris. Holder doesn't manage to clinch there - Falaris circles away.

A left lands for Falaris. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Falaris throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Holder's head. Holder pulls out of a head kick attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luke Holder dominated that fourth round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Holder throws a front kick aimed at Falaris's knee but Falaris avoids it well. Falaris avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Falaris motions for Holder to come forward. Falaris throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Falaris throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Falaris chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Holder can pounce on him.
Falaris lands a jab-cross combination. Holder is looking to clinch but Falaris is avoiding it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Falaris throws a head kick that half lands.
Falaris throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Holder. Falaris slaps away a takedown attempt from Holder, before circling back to the center of the mat. Holder has Falaris up against the cage in a clinch.
Holder throws an elbow that misses.
Falaris breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Holder throws a leg kick that is checked and Falaris counters with a slapping leg kick. Falaris tries a low kick but Holder avoids it. Falaris lands with a nice body kick. Holder throws a sloppy head kick and Falaris counters with a good low kick that Holder was not able to check. Falaris lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Holder is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell? A head kick misses from Falaris. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Falaris.

Falaris wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Holder gets slowly back to his feet. Falaris goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Marcus Falaris has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Holder on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Luke Holder is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Falaris scores with a shot to the body.
Falaris ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Falaris throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Falaris just misses with a punch to the body.
And that's the end of the fight! Marcus Falaris showed his dominance in that final round. I think Holder has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
