Barnes's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Black Eyed Peas - Imma Be. Jafar Mehtmeht has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

10 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jafar Mehtmeht! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Roberts and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Mehtmeht. No joy for Barnes on that attempt. A nice leg kick lands there from Mehtmeht. Barnes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mehtmeht is fending him off so far but Barnes persists. Nope, Mehtmeht circles away and we're back to standing. Mehtmeht wants to clinch and Barnes counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Mehtmeht wants to get back to full guard. Barnes passes to full mount! Mehtmeht is working to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Barnes with a couple of short strikes. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mehtmeht can do anything to dispel that myth. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mehtmeht can't escape the position.

That's one minute gone in the round. Barnes fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Barnes unloading with bombs! Mehtmeht is looking to improve his position but Barnes isn't that keen on the idea. Barnes scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Barnes is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Mehtmeht has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Mehtmeht! Barnes looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mehtmeht trying to control but Barnes is working from the bottom. Barnes is looking for a triangle but Mehtmeht pushes his legs off easily.
Mehtmeht is looking to work some ground and pound but Barnes has wrist control. Barnes manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Barnes moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Mehtmeht has worked his arm free - good work by Mehtmeht!
Barnes landing strikes. Mehtmeht is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Barnes off and has taken his back! Mehtmeht misses with punches from the back. Barnes breaks Mehtmeht's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Barnes works a leg free and moves into half guard. Barnes working over Mehtmeht with some ground and pound. Mehtmeht looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Barnes is looking to take a break and control but Mehtmeht is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mehtmeht is trying to get back to full guard. Mehtmeht really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barnes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mehtmeht won't allow Barnes to pass to mount. Mehtmeht is in trouble now - Barnes has advanced to mount! Barnes with good strikes from the mount here! A nice elbow there by Barnes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Barnes with good strikes from the mount here! Barnes putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Barnes raining down hammerfists from mount. Mehtmeht is desperately trying to improve his position but Barnes has a good base and remains in mount. Barnes lands with some strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bj Barnes dominated that round. That's time! Barnes's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Mehtmeht tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Barnes paws at him with a jab and circles away. Jab from Barnes. Mehtmeht throws a leg kick and Barnes counters with a thumping low kick. Barnes lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Barnes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mehtmeht moves away. Mehtmeht looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mehtmeht tries to clinch but fails miserably and Barnes counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Barnes. Barnes won't allow Mehtmeht to sweep him here. Barnes trying to control but Mehtmeht is working from the bottom. Barnes is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barnes looking to pass the guard. Barnes drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mehtmeht looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mehtmeht looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mehtmeht! Barnes is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Barnes works his way to full guard. Good work. Barnes wants to sweep here but Mehtmeht controlling him for the moment. Barnes is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Barnes can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mehtmeht controls the pace. Mehtmeht stopping the sweep attempt from Barnes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mehtmeht postures up.
Mehtmeht trying to control the position from guard on top but Barnes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Mehtmeht preventing the sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jafar Mehtmeht has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Barnes gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Mehtmeht keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Barnes throws a leg kick and Mehtmeht counters with an outside leg kick.
Barnes swings and misses with a shot to the body and Mehtmeht makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Barnes throws a body punch but Mehtmeht moves out of range. Barnes fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bj Barnes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Barnes blocks a head kick by Mehtmeht.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Bj Barnes will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Left hook, right uppercut from Mehtmeht. Mehtmeht throws a lazy head kick and Barnes counters with a shoot takedown. Mehtmeht fights it but they end up in guard. Mehtmeht not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Barnes slips nicely into half guard. Barnes is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Mehtmeht is trying to get back to full guard. Barnes is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Mehtmeht reverses the position - he's now on top in Barnes's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barnes wants to sweep but no luck. Barnes lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mehtmeht! Barnes lands a heavy elbow. Mehtmeht is working to get back to half guard.
Barnes has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mehtmeht's face.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Barnes scoring with strikes but Mehtmeht is staying in there. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Barnes landing shots from mount. Barnes is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mehtmeht can do to turn this around? Barnes softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Mehtmeht is out cold! Barnes jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!
