Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jeff James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DO Yap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeff James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, DO Yap! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yap looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Yap is trying to control the action in half guard but James is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. James keeping hold of Yap's head, controlling as best he can. Yap not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. James gets full guard. Yap trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. There's a bit of a scramble here and now James is on top in guard.
James controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Yap is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's one minute gone in the round. James got a little sloppy there for a moment and Yap has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, James has managed to get both his arms back between Yap's legs - danger averted. James is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. James slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Yap really doesn't want to stay on the ground with James. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Yap not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. James content to stall in guard here.
We're going to have a standup here because Jeff James wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. James closes the distance and clinches. Still in the clinch, James scores with a nice short uppercut. James is working Yap over against the cage. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Yap trying to stall but James improves his position.
James effectively controlling the action here. Yap jumps into guard, dragging James to the mat.
Yap is trying to control the position but James postures up. Yap looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. James preventing the sweep. James landing some decent shots from guard. Yap not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
James not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. James works a leg free and moves into half guard. James is taking a breather. Yap says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jeff James wasn't doing enough on the ground. James drives through with a takedown into guard. James passes Yap's right leg, so he's now in half guard. James content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jeff James dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
James moves into the clinch successfully.
Yap has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics James uses from the top position. James works a leg free and moves into half guard. James is taking a breather. Yap says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. James prevents Yap from improving his position. James controlling the action here. Yap is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yap looking for submissions off his back. James has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. James working the ground and pound effectively.
Yap tries to control James's head but James pushes him back down and moves quickly to lock up an arm here - he's swung around for an armbar! Will he get it??? Yes! Yap is tapping out! Lovely Jiu Jitsu there!
