Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Uljas Tossavainen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Emmaneul McLovin! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, John Roberts and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tossavainen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from McLovin. Emmaneul McLovin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Horrible takedown by Tossavainen or perhaps it was just good defense by McLovin which made him look bad. Tossavainen takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Tossavainen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McLovin as he jumps to the side. Tossavainen slips a jab from McLovin. Tossavainen walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Tossavainen shoots for a takedown but McLovin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Uljas Tossavainen. That's going to take a lot out of him. McLovin dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Nice takedown defense from McLovin. No joy for Tossavainen on that attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tossavainen takes one on the button.
It looks like Uljas Tossavainen has been cut. McLovin scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. McLovin lands with a hook. Tossavainen tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. McLovin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than McLovin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! McLovin is looking to stand but McLovin has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
McLovin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tossavainen is looking to escape. Tossavainen tries to reverse the position but McLovin maintains control. McLovin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tossavainen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. McLovin wants to stand but Tossavainen is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
McLovin tries to control but Tossavainen wriggling away. McLovin wants to get back to his feet but Tossavainen is holding on tight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tossavainen is looking to improve his position but McLovin isn't that keen on the idea. McLovin trying to control but Tossavainen is having none of it. McLovin controlling from the full mount. Tossavainen is wriggling around trying to escape.
Tossavainen gets back to half guard. McLovin seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
McLovin looks gassed! Tossavainen wants to control but McLovin is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tossavainen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Tossavainen looking for submissions from an awkward position here. McLovin is thwarting Tossavainen's attempts to control the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Tossavainen doesn't succeed with the takedown and McLovin counters with a left to the body. McLovin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McLovin tries to stand but his arm is trapped. McLovin trying to control the action but Tossavainen is working from the bottom. McLovin is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tossavainen slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Tossavainen looking for a triangle here. McLovin is fighting it but it looks tight! Tossavainen pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, McLovin is tapping out - this one is all over!
