Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Riley Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Calle Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machida has chosen Hate to say I told you so as his entrance music. Riley Cote is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Riley Cote!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Calle Machida!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jonathan Paton and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cote shoots in for a takedown but Machida shows good takedown defense.
Cote darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cote prevents Machida from improving his position.
Cote winds up and cracks Machida with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Cote wants to free his trapped foot but Machida is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Cote takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Machida is on top in guard.

Machida sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Cote's guard.
Cote is looking to control Machida's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cote avoid being mounted?

Machida is working for a submission of some sort.
Cote has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Machida is working away from the top position though.
Machida wants to work for an arm triangle but Cote is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Cote throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Machida's waist but Machida gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cote off to one side.
Cote is breathing heavily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Machida misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Calle Machida is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cote tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Machida swivels and escapes.

Cote has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Machida working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cote doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cote manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Machida had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Cote is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Machida Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Cote's back instead.
Machida is trying to stick to Cote's back but Cote is turning into Machida. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Machida's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Cote.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Machida gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Machida wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Cote manages to pass to side control.
Cote is nestled in close to Machida, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Machida pushes Cote off looking to stand but Cote dives back in and keeps control.

Riley Cote dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Machida stuffs the takedown attempt from Cote. Cote gets slowly back to his feet.
Machida tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Riley Cote seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cote changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Machida looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Cote lands a big elbow - Machida is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Cote!
