Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Alvas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arthur Couture!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Mauricio Rocha and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvas pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Couture digs a good hook to Alvas's body.
Alvas throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Couture misses with a series of wild punches.
Alvas will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Couture counters by clinching up.
Alvas is trying to push Couture away but Couture has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Couture pulls guard successfully.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Couture pulls Alvas in close to his closed guard and prevents Alvas from doing any damage or advancing position.
Couture manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Couture moves out of range as Alvas throws a body kick.
Couture has closed the distance and engaged Alvas in a clinch.
Couture is trying to break the clinch but Alvas is controlling him.
Couture looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Alvas working hard to break the clinch.
Couture ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Couture no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Couture wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Couture manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Alvas manages to get himself to full guard.
Couture stays in close to Alvas's body and controls the position.
Alvas wants to sweep but no luck.
Couture lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Couture is standing up over Alvas. Alvas looks to escape but Couture dives into side control.
Couture is staying tight to Alvas's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Couture working the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Couture stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Alvas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Alvas misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Alvas tries to work over Couture's front leg with a kick but Couture checks it.
Couture tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Alvas turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Couture shoots in and gets a takedown into Alvas's guard.
Couture works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Couture lands a nice short elbow.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Couture seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Alvas is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
