Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Heston Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vernon Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie comes into the arena with Animal I Have Become blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turner shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gracie manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Turner accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Turner postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Gracie's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Turner scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Gracie to see if he's OK.
Turner tries to score with some ground and pound. Gracie controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Turner thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gracie's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Turner might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

and Gracie counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Gracie is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Turner.

and Gracie counters with a nice low kick that buckles Turner's knee momentarily.
Turner tries to close the distance and clinch but Gracie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Turner throws a hook to the side of Gracie's head but Gracie sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Gracie tries to lock up and control but Turner gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

I would just about give that final round to Vernon Turner.
I think Turner has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
