Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gavin McIlroy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robby Hatton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Gavin McIlroy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Robby Hatton! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McIlroy fails with the takedown and Hatton counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps McIlroy thinking. McIlroy takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. McIlroy throws a combination that misses and Hatton counters with a three punch combo that has McIlroy backing up. McIlroy nods at Hatton to acknowledge the strikes. Hatton keeps the fight on the outside. McIlroy shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hatton counters with a right hand to the body. Hatton uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. McIlroy shoots and misses and McIlroy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gavin McIlroy. That's going to take a lot out of him. McIlroy swings and misses with a shot to the body and Hatton counters with a left to the body. McIlroy shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hatton is trying to defend but McIlroy finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Hatton wants to get back to full guard but McIlroy has mounted him! McIlroy controlling his opponent. McIlroy cracks Hatton with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
That's one minute gone in the round. McIlroy prevents Hatton from getting the reversal. Hatton wants to hold on but McIlroy pushes him away. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hatton can do anything to dispel that myth. McIlroy breaks from Hatton's wrist control and lands an elbow. McIlroy controlling his opponent. McIlroy's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Hatton is wriggling around trying to escape.
McIlroy looking to secure an arm triangle but Hatton defends it well. Hatton tries to improve his position but McIlroy has taken his back! McIlroy has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Hatton tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! McIlroy pushes Hatton away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Gavin McIlroy!
