Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, John Marston! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Chris Carwin! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Lou da Vinci and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marston throws a leg kick but Carwin moved away. A cross from Carwin lands. Carwin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Marston. Marston falls off balance throwing a combination
and Carwin counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Carwin throws out a loose jab but Marston uses good head movement to avoid it. Carwin throws a right hand that misses
and Marston counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Chris Carwin has been cut. Marston takes one to the side of the head.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Carwin, as that shot connected.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Marston lands a nice shot to the body.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Marston.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carwin shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Marston eats them both and turns towards Carwin to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Marston shoots in for a takedown but Carwin shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Marston. That's going to take a lot out of him. Marston misses with a two punch combination.
Marston shoots for a double leg takedown but Carwin sprawls well. He's pushed Marston's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Marston walks into a jab. Carwin throws a left and a right that both miss
and Marston holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Marston content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Marston breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Carwin lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Carwin scores with a decent looking hook.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marston throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Carwin lands a jab. This has been an exciting period of action! Carwin misses with a combination
and Marston counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Marston is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Carwin pulls him back up using the underhooks. Carwin throws a punch but it's blocked by Marston. Marston pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Marston swings widly with a right hand
and Carwin counters with a two punch combo. Carwin connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Marston. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Marston throws a left and a right that both miss
and Carwin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Marston is breathing heavily. Marston takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marston tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Carwin swivels and escapes. Carwin lands with a right hand. Marston tries to clinch but Carwin moves away and Carwin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Nice cross by Carwin. Carwin swinging wildly here.

and Marston counters with a stiff right hand. Marston tries to clinch but Carwin moves away and Carwin counters with a stiff right hand. Marston tries to score a power double leg takedown but Carwin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Marston somewhat. Jab by Carwin.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Carwin lands with an uppercut that bounces Marston off the cage and back into rage. Marston tries to clinch but Carwin is having none of it. Marston throws a series of punches but Carwin moves out of range. Marston showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Carwin.
Carwin might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Carwin connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Marston's hands. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Marston tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Carwin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marston fails with the takedown. Marston drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Marston rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Carwin counters with a stiff right hand. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A big left from Carwin misses. Carwin throws a right and a left that Marston avoids nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carwin connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Marston uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Carwin. Carwin lands with a shot to the body. Marston moves forwards but Carwin connects with a nice, crisp jab. Carwin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Marston. Chris Carwin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Marston uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Carwin. Marston tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Carwin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marston wants to clinch up but Carwin keeps it at a distance. Carwin misses with a series of wild punches.

Carwin misses with a jab to the body
and Marston counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Carwin's guard now. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carwin can do anything to dispel that myth. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Marston is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marston postures up in Carwin's guard and throws a big left but Carwin blocks it. Marston is fighting to break Carwin's control of his arms but Carwin is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Marston wants to pass the guard but Carwin is keeping the position. Marston forces his way into half guard. Marston is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Carwin is just riding it out for now. Marston eventually gives up the hold. Marston not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Marston is looking to take a break and control but Carwin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Marston thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Marston is trying to control. Carwin wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Marston has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Marston thows a huge punch but Carwin dodges it nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Carwin wants to get back to full guard. Marston thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Carwin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marston. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Marston trying to control the action but Carwin is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that John Marston will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Chris Carwin's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Marston tries to clinch but Carwin moves out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carwin avoids the head kick by Marston.

Carwin misses with a right hand and Marston counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Carwin is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Carwin slips under a jab from Marston. Marston tries to clinch up but Carwin circles away and keeps his distance. Carwin lands with a cross. Carwin throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Marston on the side of the head. Carwin misses with a right hand and Marston holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Marston blocking some punches.
Marston manages to break the clinch.
John Marston is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Carwin scores with a sloppy right hand. Marston should have avoided that one. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Marston throws a looping overhand right but Carwin ducks down to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marston uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Carwin. Marston throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Marston takes a body punch but keeps moving. Marston rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Carwin moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Carwin scores with a crisp jab that stopped Marston in his tracks. Carwin lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Marston takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Marston tries to clinch up but Carwin circles away and keeps his distance. Marston tries to clinch but fails miserably and Marston takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. John Marston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A jab lands there for Carwin. Marston tries to clinch but fails miserably and Carwin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Marston decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Carwin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Marston wants to pass the guard but Carwin is defending well. Carwin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Marston is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Carwin! Carwin holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Marston tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marston controlling the pace for now. Marston thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Marston raining down shots from the mount! Marston avoids the attempt from Carwin to control. Marston looking to secure an arm triangle but Carwin defends it well. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Carwin is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Chris Carwin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Carwin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
