Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Seth Rodd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodd's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Seth Rodd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Scott!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Alyssa Summers and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
enabling Rodd to counter with a crisp jab.
Scott misses with a double jab.
Scott lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Scott.
Scott misses with a double jab.
Rodd shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Scott as he avoids it easily.
Scott throws a right hand that Rodd ducks under and follows up with a left that Rodd also avoids with ease.
Scott fails to land with a series of punches.
Scott fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rodd tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Scott counters with a straight right hand.
Scott misses with the combination.
Scott throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Scott is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Scott pushes Rodd back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Rodd is trying to break the clinch but Scott is controlling him.

Scott manages to break the clinch.
Scott clobbers Rodd with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Scott throws a series of punches but Rodd moves out of range.
Scott throws a leg kick but Rodd sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Scott drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rodd keeping full guard, as Scott tries to pass.

Rodd is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Scott defends well.
Scott passes into half guard.

Scott stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Rodd to get to his feet.
Rodd tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Scott counters with a nice uppercut.
Scott misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rodd takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Rodd wants to clinch
and Rodd takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Rodd throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Scott.
Scott fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Rodd checks it well.
Scott throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rodd avoids a punch combination nicely.
Scott's jab looks to have found its range, popping Rodd under the eye.

Rodd moves out of range of the leg kick from Scott.

and Scott cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Scott misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rodd looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Scott takes a swing at Rodd's ribcage but misses.

Rodd takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

No joy there for Scott, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Michael Scott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rodd blocks a jab.
Michael Scott is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Scott throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Scott lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Scott closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Rodd quickly recovers to half guard.

Rodd is defending against the submission attempts here by Scott.
Scott is trying to control the action in half guard but Rodd is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Rodd is looking to control Scott's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rodd avoid being mounted?
Scott works his way into full mount!

Rodd takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Scott looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Rodd is desperately trying to improve his position but Scott has a good base and remains in mount.

Scott looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Rodd tries to reverse the position but Scott maintains control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Scott with shots to the head and body - Rodd looks very uncomfortable down there.
Scott takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Scott connects with a body shot that sends Rodd's belly button to the back.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Scott goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Michael Scott showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Scott connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Rodd momentarily.

Rodd tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Scott paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Scott will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Scott decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Rodd looks like he's trying to stand up.

Scott looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Scott moves nicely into side control.
Scott lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Rodd down.

Scott lands a nice forearm strike.
Scott trying to control the position but Rodd is working away.

Scott has hold of Rodd's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Rodd tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Scott cranks the arm and Rodd screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Rodd, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Michael Scott!
