Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jean Claude Van Dam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiago Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Jean Claude Van Dam has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves avoids a punch combination nicely.
Alves looks gassed!
Van Dam throws a head kick but Alves moves out of range.
Van Dam staying out of range there.
Van Dam tries a head kick but it misses.
Van Dam lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A low kick from Alves is predictable there
and Van Dam counters by clinching up.

Van Dam lands a hook that snaps the head of Alves backwards.
Alves stalling in the clinch but Van Dam improves position.

With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Van Dam creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Van Dam creates some distance for himselfand unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Alves's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Alves drops to his knees and Van Dam pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
