Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mario Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Vinyard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rua comes to the cage accompanied by The Chase. Vinyard has chosen Here Comes The Pain as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mario Rua! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derek Vinyard! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vinyard walks into a jab. Vinyard fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rua, pushing him back against the cage. Vinyard throws a punch but it's blocked by Rua. Vinyard lands a knee to the head.
Rua missing with knees to the body.
Rua tries to circle away but Vinyard has him pinned against the cage. Vinyard tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Rua avoids it. Rua avoids the elbow strike from Vinyard, against the cage.
Vinyard pushes off an throws an elbow but Rua leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Rua pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Vinyard scores with a nice body kick.
Nice body kick there by Vinyard. Rua takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Rua blocks a head kick by Vinyard.
Rua throws a combination that misses and Vinyard counters with a slapping leg kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Vinyard throws a nice outside leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vinyard connects with a jab. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Rua crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Vinyard - the referee stops the clock and Rua gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Vinyard. Rua manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Rua is breathing heavily. Rua tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Some wild striking there from Vinyard.
Rua tries to clinch up and Vinyard counters with an inside leg kick. Nice body kick from Vinyard. This has been an exciting period of action! Vinyard lands a leg kick that knocks Rua off balance momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vinyard's jab looks to have found its range, popping Rua under the eye. Vinyard scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Rua misses with a right hand and Vinyard counters with an outside leg kick.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Vinyard.
Rua on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Rua sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Vinyard fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rua, pushing him back against the cage. Vinyard lands a left hand that snaps the head of Rua backwards. A left hand lands to the body for Vinyard.
Vinyard breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Vinyard scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vinyard lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Rua is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. A slapping leg kick lands for Vinyard.
Vinyard lands a nice leg kick that just misses Rua's sensitive parts. Vinyard thumps Rua with a low kick. Rua chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Vinyard can pounce on him.
Vinyard lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Vinyard rushes Rua and presses him up against the cage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Vinyard lands a nice uppercut. Vinyard manages to break the clinch.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Vinyard, right into the meat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vinyard rushes Rua and presses him up against the cage. Vinyard with a knee to the head.
It looks like Mario Rua has been cut. Nice body punch from Vinyard - that landed with a thud.
Vinyard escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Vinyard throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Rua on the side of the head. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Rua crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Vinyard - the referee stops the clock and Rua gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Vinyard. Vinyard throws a quick inside leg kick. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Vinyard lands with an uppercut that bounces Rua off the cage and back into rage. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Vinyard - that will leave a mark!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Derek Vinyard dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mario Rua's cut. That's time! Rua's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Vinyard closes the distance and clinches. Vinyard lands a shoulder strike. Vinyard throws a punch but it's blocked by Rua. Vinyard blocks an uppercut.
With the fighters up against the cage, Rua throws an elbow but misses. Rua wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Vinyard has him pressed against the cage. Rua swings away with an uppercut that misses.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Vinyard. Vinyard lands a nice uppercut. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Vinyard obliges. A nice right hand lands inside from Vinyard. A nice right hand lands inside from Vinyard. A right hand to the body from Vinyard.
Vinyard lands an uppercut. Vinyard throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Ruas head.
Rua is rocked! Vinyard jerks Rua's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Rua drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Vinyard goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Vinyard because Rua was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knee). Derek Vinyard! Derek Vinyard retains his middleweight title!
