Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jose Pontes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedreiro Jiujiteiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jiujiteiro has chosen Chão de Giz as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Pedreiro Jiujiteiro enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Pontes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pedreiro Jiujiteiro! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Emerson Jorge and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jiujiteiro shoots for a double leg takedown but Pontes sprawls well. He's pushed Jiujiteiro's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Jiujiteiro swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pontes counters with a lovely straight right hand! Jiujiteiro tries to clinch but Pontes moves away and Pontes makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. A slow jab from Pontes misses its intended target. Jiujiteiro closes the distance but Pontes moves to the side and Pontes makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jiujiteiro falls off balance throwing a combination
and Pontes counters with a lovely straight right hand! Jiujiteiro avoids a punch combination nicely.
Pedreiro Jiujiteiro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A swing and a miss from Pontes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jiujiteiro darts in trying to clinch and Pontes counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Jiujiteiro misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Pontes cracks Jiujiteiro with a right hand to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pontes lands a lovely overhand right. Jiujiteiro defending well as Pontes loads up on a big left hand. Pontes moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Jiujiteiro goes down! Can Pontes finish him!?
Jiujiteiro is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Pontes has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jiujiteiro is proving hard to escape from.
That's three minutes gone in the round. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Pontes wants to stand and escape but instead Jiujiteiro has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Pontes utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Pontes thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Jiujiteiro trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jiujiteiro trying to control the position from guard on top but Pontes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jiujiteiro throwing strikes from guard but Pontes blocks nicely. Jiujiteiro has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Jiujiteiro thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Jiujiteiro working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Pontes on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pontes tries to get out of the position. Jiujiteiro slips nicely into half guard. Jiujiteiro is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pontes is just riding it out for now. Jiujiteiro eventually gives up the hold. Jiujiteiro is looking to take a break and control but Pontes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jiujiteiro not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jose Pontes dominated that round. That's time! Pontes's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Pontes throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Jiujiteiro counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Pontes is staying active underneath Jiujiteiro, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Nice strikes from Jiujiteiro there. Pontes avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jiujiteiro. Pontes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jiujiteiro on the ground. Jiujiteiro thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pontes's head. Pontes keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Jiujiteiro has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Pontes defend it? Jiujiteiro steps over the head and cranks it - Pontes is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Jiujiteiro!
