The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aguiar shoots and misses
and Igor counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Igor.
Aguiar tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Igor smiles and moves away.
Igor tries to clinch up but Aguiar circles away and keeps his distance.
Igor is looking to clinch but Aguiar is avoiding it.
Aguiar doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Igor counters by moving into the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rogerio Aguiar. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Aguiar is trying to force a seperation but Igor has the dominant position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A jab-cross combination lands for Igor and sends Aguiar crashing to the mat! Igor follows him down to the mat - Aguiar regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Igor moves nicely into side control.
Igor sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Aguiar is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Igor wants to stand but Aguiar is controlling his arm.
Igor goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Aguiar has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Igor but great work by Aguiar.

Aguiar wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Igor, who protects the arm well.

Igor wants to get back to his feet but Aguiar drags him back down.

Igor is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Aguiar wants to control but Igor is keeping him busy.
Igor bucks up and tries to throw Aguiar off but instead Aguiar has got his back!
A bit of a pause in the action here. Aguiar controlling the positon.
Aguiar has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Aguiar is looking for a choke. Igor gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Igor manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
Aguiar is trying to keep Igor in close.

Igor wanted to stand there but Aguiar had control of the position.

Aguiar bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Igor's guard.

Aguiar wants to pass the guard but Igor is keeping the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Igor looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Igor has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Aguiar off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Aguiar looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Igor counters with a nice low kick that buckles Aguiar's knee momentarily.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Igor!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Igor tries to clinch but Aguiar moves out of range.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Igor.

Aguiar swats away the attempt to clinch by Igor.

Aguiar keeps the fight on the outside.

and Igor counters with a nice low kick that buckles Aguiar's knee momentarily.
Igor tries to clinch up but Aguiar circles away and keeps his distance.
Aguiar walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Rogerio Aguiar's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Igor tries to close the distance and clinch up but Aguiar swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Igor has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Igor is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Igor throws a series of punches but Aguiar moves out of range.

Igor throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Aguiar.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Aguiar. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Igor has managed to clinch.
Igor gets through Aguiar's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Jeez, Rogerio Aguiar's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
