PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chada Zdr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Burgess (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Chada Zdr has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Chada Zdr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Richard Burgess!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zdr tries to clinch
and Burgess counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Chada Zdr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zdr tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Burgess counters by clinching up.

Burgess pulls guard successfully.
Zdr wants to get up but he can't break Burgess's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Burgess wants to stand up but Zdr is controlling him.
Burgess keeping moving, preventing Zdr from controlling successfully.
Burgess keeping full guard, as Zdr tries to pass.
Zdr looking to sit in guard and control but Burgess gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Zdr is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Zdr wants to sweep here but Burgess controlling him for the moment.
Burgess stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Zdr swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Zdr fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Burgess manages to avoid it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Zdr is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Burgess has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Burgess tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Burgess has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Zdr seems a little lost for a moment, as Burgess dominates the positioning.
Burgess works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Zdr takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Burgess scores with a couple of short elbows.
Zdr is trying to get back to his feet.
Zdr is looking for a sweep.
Zdr is breathing heavily.

Burgess wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Zdr, who protects the arm well.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Burgess remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Zdr doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Burgess counters by moving into the clinch.

Well Burgess has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
