Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Raymond Chow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Paulson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 1, fighting out of London, Raymond Chow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Robert Paulson!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chow swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Paulson throws an off balance right hand

and Chow counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Chow tries to pass the half guard into mount. Paulson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Chow not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Chow is looking for a kimura but Paulson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Chow to get the leverage.
Chow thows a huge punch but Paulson dodges it nicely.
Chow winds up and cracks Paulson with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Chow is trying to control the action in half guard but Paulson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Chow looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Chow lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Paulson is refusing to be controlled, as Chow sits in half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Chow looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Chow thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Paulson to regain full guard.
Chow trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Paulson wants to stand and escape but Chow is having none of it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Paulson keeping moving, preventing Chow from controlling successfully.
Chow with a flurry of punches that miss.
Chow postures up in Paulson's guard and throws a big left but Paulson blocks it.
Chow throws a big right hand that misses.
Chow stops Paulson from standing up.
Chow might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Paulson keeping moving, preventing Chow from controlling successfully.
Chow throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Paulson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Chow trying to control but Paulson is working from the bottom.

Chow is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Chow has gone for a leg lock! Paulson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Chow's guard.
Chow has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Chow controls Paulson momentarily but Paulson frees himself.

Chow has his foot on Paulson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Paulson works his way back into a safe position though.

Chow looking for a guillotine here but Paulson defends easily.

Chow looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's time! Chow's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Chow cracks Paulson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Paulson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Chow.
Chow rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Paulson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A looping hook to the body misses from Paulson. Chow does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Paulson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Paulson tries to bum rush Chow with a series of wild strikes but Chow uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Paulson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Robert Paulson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chow misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

enabling Chow to counter with a crisp jab.

and Paulson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Robert Paulson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Chow swings widly with a right hand
and Paulson counters with a straight right hand.
Chow throws the left hand but Paulson avoids the punch easily.

Paulson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Chow counters with a single leg into guard. Paulson didn't expect that.
Paulson looking to control but Chow passes into half guard.
Chow passes to side control.
Chow misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Paulson is not content to let Chow control the position.
Chow throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Chow lands a nice forearm strike.
Chow fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Chow advances to full mount.
Chow throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Paulson can't escape the position.
Chow looking to control but Paulson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Paulson wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Chow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Paulson tries to lock up and control but Chow gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Paulson is in a horrible position here. Chow smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Chow can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Paulson is looking to escape.
Chow is landing with some decent strikes but Paulson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Paulson blocking the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Raymond Chow dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Chow misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Chow takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Chow takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Chow ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Paulson moves away.
Paulson throws a combination that misses
and Chow counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Chow misses the shot to the body.
Paulson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Paulson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Chow connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Chow ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Chow fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Paulson thows a body shot but no joy.
A big left from Paulson misses.
Chow on the wrong end of a nice jab.


It looks like Raymond Chow has been cut.
Paulson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Paulson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Chow.
Paulson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Chow misses with a few strikes there.

Paulson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Chow.

Raymond Chow overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Chow is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Paulson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Robert Paulson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Raymond Chow showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Chow, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
