The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Randalman tries to clinch up
and Tortuga decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Randalman's guard.
Randalman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tortuga manages to get himself to full guard.
Randalman wants to control from the top but Tortuga keeps moving.
Tortuga looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Randalman wants to clinch but Tortuga slips to the side
and Tortuga counters with a single leg into guard. Randalman didn't expect that.
Tortuga got a little sloppy there for a moment and Randalman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tortuga has managed to get both his arms back between Randalman's legs - danger averted.
Tommy Tortuga has got the better of the ground game so far.
Tortuga sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Randalman's guard.
Tortuga is pressing down on Randalman's thigh, looking to free his foot. Randalman is holding on for now.

Tortuga takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Tortuga is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
