Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Boris Dominis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernando Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fernando Ortiz is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Boris Dominis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fernando Ortiz! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ortiz scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Dominis pushes Ortiz off looking to stand but Ortiz dives back in and keeps control.
Ortiz thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dominis's head. Dominis keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Ortiz looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Ortiz prevents Dominis from standing back up.
Ortiz is looking to advance position but Dominis won't allow it. Ortiz seems to be looking for submissions.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ortiz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Dominis is looking to stand up but Ortiz isn't so interested in that idea. Ortiz lands a couple of elbows. Dominis wants to get back to his feet but Ortiz is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Ortiz distracts Dominis with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ortiz throwing strikes but missing. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dominis is looking to stand up but Ortiz isn't so interested in that idea. Ortiz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Ortiz scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Ortiz trying to control the position from guard on top but Dominis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ortiz won't allow Dominis to get back to his feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nice takedown defense from Dominis. No joy for Ortiz on that attempt. A head kick misses from Dominis. Dominis misses with a head kick.
Ortiz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Ortiz looks gassed! Ortiz landing shots from mount. Ortiz is landing with some decent strikes but Dominis is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Ortiz in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Ortiz postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Dominis looks a forlorn figure.
Dominis really wants to buck Ortiz off and get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ortiz looking to finish Dominis with some ground and pound. This is bad for Dominis! Ortiz connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Ortiz working away from the top, dropping strikes. Ortiz won't let Dominis get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Dominis wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Ortiz.
Dominis is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Ortiz is in the full mount, landing strikes. Ortiz thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Dominis is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Ortiz pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Ortiz breaks from Dominis's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Dominis is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ortiz postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Dominis bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Ortiz and the fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fernando Ortiz!
