The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ortiz scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Dominis pushes Ortiz off looking to stand but Ortiz dives back in and keeps control.
Ortiz thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dominis's head.
Dominis keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Ortiz looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Ortiz prevents Dominis from standing back up.
Ortiz is looking to advance position but Dominis won't allow it.

Ortiz seems to be looking for submissions.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Ortiz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Dominis is looking to stand up but Ortiz isn't so interested in that idea.
Ortiz lands a couple of elbows.
Dominis wants to get back to his feet but Ortiz is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Ortiz distracts Dominis with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dominis is looking to stand up but Ortiz isn't so interested in that idea.
Ortiz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
