Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cauliflower Ears (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Di Pretty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pretty wants to clinch

and Ears counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Ears has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Pretty can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ears controls the pace.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Ears avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ears tries to free his leg and advance position but Pretty is retaining full guard.

Cauliflower Ears has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Ears closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ears lands in his opponent's guard.

Pretty is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ears is aware though and is defending well.

Pretty is looking for a triangle but Ears pushes his legs off easily.

Pretty working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ears doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ears manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pretty is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ears defends well.
Ears might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Ears seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pretty for as long as he can get away with.

Ears is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Pretty has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Ears is looking to defend but Pretty has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Ears! Pretty pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Ears taps out and this one is all over!
