Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Atlas Kivi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Locked (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Atlas Kivi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Locked! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kivi uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Locked.
Locked tries for a takedown but Kivi circles away easily and Kivi counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Locked! Kivi looking to control but Locked is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Locked is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kivi controlling from mount. Kivi unloading with bombs! Locked takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. BOOM! Kivi connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Kivi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Locked is looking to escape. Locked is in a horrible position here. Kivi smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Locked is desperately trying to improve his position but Kivi has a good base and remains in mount. That's two minutes gone in the round. Kivi is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Locked is surviving well by controlling Kivi's body position as best he can. Kivi lands a big elbow. Kivi wants to control the pace but Locked is squirming around nicely. Locked tries to reverse the position but Kivi maintains control. Kivi with good strikes from the mount here! Kivi controlling his opponent. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kivi cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Locked is desperately trying to improve his position but Kivi has a good base and remains in mount. Kivi with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Locked can't escape the position.
Kivi punishing his opponent with strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kivi sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Kivi looking to finish Locked with some ground and pound. This is bad for Locked! Locked really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Locked is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Kivi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Locked is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kivi lands a big shot there that rocks Locked but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Kivi is in the full mount, landing strikes. BOOM! Kivi connects with a massive shot to the dome!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kivi fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Locked is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Locked looks gassed! A nice elbow there by Kivi. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Atlas Kivi dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Kivi drives through and clinches with Locked against the cage.
Locked drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kivi gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Locked jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kivi walks away with a smile on his face. Locked gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Atlas Kivi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Locked. Kivi gets the takedown into side control. Kivi scoring with punches from side control. Kivi tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Locked taking punishment in the form of punches.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Kivi here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Kivi trying to control the action but Locked is working from the bottom. Locked is trying to escape the position but Kivi is controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kivi landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Kivi works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Atlas Kivi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kivi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Locked keeps working. Kivi is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Locked can do to turn this around? Locked taking punishment in the form of punches.

Locked tries to improve position but can't. Kivi working the body and head with strikes. Locked takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Locked takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Kivi looks up at the clock and then as Locked takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Kivi smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Kivi is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Locked will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. You can see the frustration on Locked's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Locked is not content to let Kivi control the position. Locked tries to get back to half guard but can't. Kivi content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kivi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Kivi lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Locked looking for a guillotine here but Kivi defends easily.
Kivi passes Locked's left leg - he's now in half guard. Kivi is trying to control. Locked wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Kivi tries to pass the half guard into mount. Locked knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Kivi is figuring out what he wants to do next. Kivi prevents Locked from improving his position. Locked takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kivi wants to take a breather but Locked is having none of it. Kivi moves into full mount! Locked won't be happy about that! Locked working to try and regain half guard.
Kivi looking to secure an arm triangle but Locked defends it well. Kivi cracks Locked with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Locked keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Kivi pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Kivi lands a nice shot to the head. Kivi has control of Locked's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Locked regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Locked is trying to get back to full guard. Kivi scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Kivi takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Kivi trying to control from half guard but Locked is working away. John Locked has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Kivi tries to pass the half guard into mount. Locked knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Locked gets full guard. Kivi wants to control from the top but Locked keeps moving. Kivi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Atlas Kivi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kivi trying to control the position from guard on top but Locked is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kivi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
And that's the end of the fight! Atlas Kivi showed his dominance in that final round. Well Kivi has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
