Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brady Baird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uno Louner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 18 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brady Baird!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Uno Louner!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baird shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Louner counter with a right hand.
Louner with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Louner uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Baird.

and Louner counters with a shoot takedown. Baird fights it but they end up in guard.
Louner postures up and lands a big shot to Baird's brow.

Baird tries to roll over but Louner keeps him under control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Louner is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Baird wants to improve his position but Louner is controlling well.
Baird is refusing to be controlled, as Louner sits in half guard.

Baird is looking to control Louner's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Baird avoid being mounted?
Louner is keen to just control but Baird is a slippery customer.

The fighters are battling for position here. Baird manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Louner cracks Baird with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
BOOM! Louner connects with a massive shot to the dome!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Baird is bucking up trying to escape but Louner cracks him with another couple of good strikes.


It looks like Brady Baird has been cut.

Baird is desperately trying to improve his position but Louner has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Uno Louner dominated that round.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Louner keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
The fight stays on the outside here - Baird looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Louner swats away the attempt to clinch by Baird.
Baird throws a combination that misses
and Louner cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Baird tries for a takedown but Louner circles away easily
and Louner counters with a one-two to the body.
Louner scores with a one two! Baird had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

and Louner counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Baird's guard now.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Louner keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Baird's head.
Baird wants to sweep here but Louner controlling him for the moment.
Louner trying to control the position from guard on top but Baird is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Louner is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Louner has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Louner lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Louner wants to take a breather but Baird is having none of it.

Louner is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Louner looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Baird with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Louner decides to stand up.

and Louner holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Louner lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


Brady Baird's cut is getting worse.
Baird looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Louner connects with a right hand. Baird shakes it off.
Louner lands a nice looking body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Baird gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Louner cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brady Baird. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Louner counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Louner got a little sloppy there for a moment and Baird has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Louner has managed to get both his arms back between Baird's legs - danger averted.

Baird is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Louner defends well.

Uno Louner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Baird throws a left and a right that both miss
and Louner counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Louner moves into the clinch successfully.
Baird wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Baird breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Uno Louner seems to be getting the better of the standup.

and Louner counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Baird tries to clinch there but Louner circles away.
Louner moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Baird takes one to the side of the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Baird wants to clinch up but Louner keeps it at a distance.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Baird will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Louner shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Baird eats them both and turns towards Louner to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Baird throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Louner lands with a right hand.
Brady Baird seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Louner shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Jeez, Brady Baird's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Brady Baird's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
