Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Spiller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Apollo Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spiller's entrance music is I know you want me. A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brandon Spiller! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Apollo Machida! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Chad Campbell and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spiller goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
It looks like Apollo Machida has been cut. Spiller misses with an uppercut
and Machida counters with a slapping leg kick. Machida throws a nice outside leg kick. Spiller slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Machida rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Spiller counters with a straight right hand. Machida avoids the head kick by Spiller.
Machida scoring well with a low kick there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Machida throws a head kick that misses. Machida misses with a low kick as Spiller jumps back. Machida throws a low kick but Spiller moves out of range easily. Spiller throws a lazy head kick and Machida makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Spiller really felt that one! Machida is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Machida walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Spiller checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Spiller misses with an uppercut
and Machida counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Machida clobbers Spiller with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Machida tries to land a front kick but Spiller steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Spiller throws a half hearted mid kick. Machida throws a right hand that misses
and Spiller counters with a lovely shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spiller cracks Machida with a good jab. An inside leg kick lands from Machida. Spiller tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Machida was well out of range. Poor timing from Spiller. Spiller throws a predictable looking body shot
and Machida counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Spiller misses with a body kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Machida connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Spiller throws a right hand that misses
and Machida counters with an inside leg kick. Spiller throws a combination that misses and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Machida lands a nice shot to the body.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Spiller throws a left and a right that both miss
and Machida counters with a big head kick but Spiller shrugs it off. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Spiller misses with a left hand and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Spiller is lucky that one didn't land flush. A low kick from Machida misses and Spiller counters with a stiff right hand. Machida rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Spiller moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Spiller throws an off balance right hand
and Machida counters with a good low kick that Spiller was not able to check.

Machida throws a nice outside leg kick. Spiller moves forwards but Machida connects with a nice, crisp jab. Spiller throws a hook but Machida blocks it. Machida throws a head kick but Spiller moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Spiller misses with a combination
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. A low kick from Machida is predictable there and Spiller counters with a stiff right hand. Spiller jabs Machida to the body, keeping him at a distance. Spiller swings widly with a right hand
and Machida counters with a left to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Machida lands a really nice looking cross but Spiller seems unphased.
A head kick by Machida misses and Spiller connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Machida throws a nice head kick!
A head kick by Spiller misses and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Sloppy strikes from Spiller. Those never looked like landing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spiller misses with a right hand and Machida counters with a thumping low kick. Machida throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Spiller is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Machida throws a chopping leg kick but Spiller manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Machida throws a sloppy head kick and Spiller moves out of range easily. Machida lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Apollo Machida showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Apollo Machida's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Spiller on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Machida scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Spiller throws a lazy head kick and Machida counters with a head kick. Machida wants to slow Spiller down by chopping away at his legs. Spiller misses with a double jab
and Machida counters with a slapping leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Machida works over Spiller's head and body with a nice combination. Apollo Machida seems to be getting the better of the standup. Spiller stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Machida. Machida lands a head kick. Spiller smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Machida jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

and Machida counters with a solid body kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Machida finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
A clash of legs there as Spiller blocks the low kick. Machida takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Machida cracks Spiller with a right hand to the side of the head. Machida has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Spiller tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Machida was well out of range. Poor timing from Spiller.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big left from Spiller misses. Machida misses with a low kick.

and Machida counters with a head kick. That will keep Spiller thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Machida with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

and Machida cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Machida lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Spiller has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Spiller and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Machida ducks right into an uppercut from Spiller. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Spiller lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Machida circles away quickly and effectively. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Spiller checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Spiller thows a leg kick but Machida checks it and Machida makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. A looping hook to the body misses from Spiller. Machida does a little dance to reset his feet. Spiller swinging wildly here.

A head kick misses from Machida. Brandon Spiller is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Spiller misses with a few strikes there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spiller feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Machida's calf. Machida is looking to score with low kicks. Spiller lands a slapping body shot.

Spiller throws a lazy head kick and Machida counters with a nice low kick that buckles Spiller's knee momentarily. Machida tries to work over Spiller's front leg with a kick but Spiller checks it. Spiller swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Machida counters with a body kick that stops Spiller in his tracks momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close fourth round but I would say that Brandon Spiller will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Apollo Machida's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Machida uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Spiller missing with a left hand there. Machida was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Spiller looks to throw a body kick and Machida counters with a nice body kick.
Machida scores with a push kick. That kick from Spiller tenderised Machida's leg. Machida is trying to keep his angry face on.

Spiller throws a body kick the misses and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Spiller attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Spiller blocks the body kick.
Machida throws a low kick, looking for Spiller's leg but Spiller calmly moves out of range.

and Machida counters with a thumping low kick. Machida throws a front kick aimed at Spiller's knee but Spiller avoids it well. Machida connects with a leg kick. Spiller looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

and Machida counters with a thumping low kick. Spiller takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Spiller throws a right hand that misses
and Machida counters with a head kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Machida throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Spiller counters with a one-two to the body. Spiller misses with a jab, cross combination.
Machida throws a front kick aimed at Spiller's knee but Spiller avoids it well. Brandon Spiller has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Spiller might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Spiller swings and misses with a shot to the body and Machida counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Spiller thinking. Machida throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
And that's the end of the fight! Apollo Machida comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Machida has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
