Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kirk Hammett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emelianenko comes to the cage accompanied by Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Re-Mix. Hammett has chosen For Whom The Bell Tolls as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fedor Emelianenko! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kirk Hammett! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Eddie Farnsworth and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emelianenko misses with a looping left. Emelianenko punishes Hammett's body with a nice straight punch. Hammett is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Emelianenko. A jab from Emelianenko misses. Emelianenko slaps away a takedown attempt from Hammett, before circling back to the center of the mat. Emelianenko misses the body punch and Hammett counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hammett. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Emelianenko keeping moving, preventing Hammett from controlling successfully. Hammett is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Emelianenko is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hammett is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hammett stopping the sweep attempt from Emelianenko. Hammett passes into half guard. Hammett is looking for a kimura but Emelianenko is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hammett to get the leverage. Hammett is trying to work for a kimura but Emelianenko is defending well.
Hammett not landing any meaningful shots this time. Hammett is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Emelianenko has managed to free his arm - good work. Hammett prevents Emelianenko from improving his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Hammett is trying to work for a kimura but Emelianenko is defending well.
Emelianenko knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hammett on the ground. Hammett seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Emelianenko does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Hammett seems to be working for a kimura but Emelianenko defends the submission attempt. Emelianenko preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Hammett is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Emelianenko doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hammett. Emelianenko looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hammett thows a huge punch but Emelianenko dodges it nicely.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Emelianenko is trying to get back to full guard. Hammett missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Hammett seems to be looking for submissions.
Hammett is working for a submission of some sort.
Hammett wants to work for an arm triangle but Emelianenko is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Emelianenko is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hammett is looking for a kimura here.
Hammett is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Emelianenko is looking to control Hammett's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Emelianenko avoid being mounted? Emelianenko is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Emelianenko on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Emelianenko tries to get out of the position. Emelianenko is trying to stand.
Hammett is keen to just control but Emelianenko is a slippery customer. Hammett is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Hammett can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Emelianenko is looking to escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Kirk Hammett will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Hammett looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Emelianenko is fending him off so far but Hammett persists. Nope, Emelianenko circles away and we're back to standing. Emelianenko keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Hammett throws a series of punches but Emelianenko moves out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hammett ducks under a wild hook from Emelianenko.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hammett keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hammett throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Emelianenko counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Hammett is breathing heavily. Emelianenko ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hammett moves away. Fedor Emelianenko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A bone on bone clash there as Emelianenko blocks the leg kick.
Hammett misses the body punch and Emelianenko cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
It looks like Kirk Hammett has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Emelianenko leaves Hammett with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Fedor Emelianenko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kirk Hammett. Hammett pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hammett throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Hammett shoots in but no luck this time. Emelianenko throws a big shot that misses. Hammett rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Emelianenko counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Hammett bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Hammett connects with a body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko missing with a left hand there. Hammett was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Hammett gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Emelianenko gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fedor Emelianenko! Fedor Emelianenko retains his heavyweight title!
