The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reijasalo fails with the takedown and Sigurdsson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Sigurdsson moves into range and connects with a jab. Reijasalo looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Reijasalo throwing strikes but missing. Frank Sigurdsson dominated that round. The cut man is working on Santeri Reijasalo's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Sigurdsson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Santeri Reijasalo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Reijasalo doesn't succeed with the takedown and Sigurdsson counters with a crisp one two that drops Reijasalo! Sigurdsson thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Reijasalo to his feet! Reijasalo is in big trouble!
Reijasalo is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sigurdsson finds Reijasalo's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Reijasalo flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Sigurdsson lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Reijasalo will be OK.
