Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mikhail Filitov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dwighterz Smyterz! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Igor Prikhodko and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smyterz misses with a takedown attempt and Filitov counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Smyterz is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Filitov distracts Smyterz with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Smyterz trying to control the position.
Filitov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Filitov looking to pass the guard. Filitov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Filitov is in close to Smyterz's body, working some short punches and elbows. Filitov lands a couple of elbows. Filitov throws a big right hand that misses. Filitov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Smyterz preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Filitov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Filitov is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Filitov has gone for a leg lock! Smyterz slips out almost immediately though and dives into Filitov's guard. Smyterz avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Filitov looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Smyterz is defending well. Filitov quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Smyterz has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Filitov celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
