The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da Silva misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Da Silva tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Da Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Maia paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Da Silva lands a jab-cross combination.
Maia misses with a few strikes there.
Da Silva throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Da Silva drives through with a takedown into guard.

Maia is rocked!
Da Silva would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
