Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Lie Die! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jaykke Wheaton! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wheaton fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Die to the ground. Wheaton is now in Die's guard. Wheaton looking to pass the guard. Die working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wheaton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wheaton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Die is trying to keep Wheaton in close.
Die wants to sweep but no luck. Wheaton avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Wheaton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Die swivels though and keeps the full guard. Die looking to control.

The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Die looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Die! Die is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wheaton is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Die wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wheaton keeps working. Wheaton is trying to get back to half guard. Die trying to control the action but Wheaton is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Die is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wheaton is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Wheaton sneaks back into half guard. Wheaton wants to improve his position but Die is controlling well.

Wheaton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Die. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Wheaton wants to sweep here but Die controlling him for the moment. Wheaton trying to keep a closed guard but Die is proving a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wheaton keeping moving, preventing Die from controlling successfully. Wheaton wants to sweep but no luck. Wheaton bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Die's guard. Die is controlling Wheaton's posture. Wheaton wants to pass the guard but Die is keeping the position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wheaton accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Die keeping moving, preventing Wheaton from controlling successfully. Die is looking for a triangle but Wheaton pushes his legs off easily.

Die avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Wheaton works over Die with some ground and pound from guard. Wheaton throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Die works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Die is trying to control the position but Wheaton postures up. Die had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wheaton defends it easily. Die is breathing heavily. Wheaton connects with a couple of short punches. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wheaton trying to control but Die is working from the bottom. Wheaton wants to pass the guard but Die is keeping the position. Wheaton wants to control from the top but Die keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jaykke Wheaton will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Wheaton is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Die working for a triangle but Wheaton defends it easily.

Wheaton trying to control but Die is working from the bottom. Wheaton postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Die is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Wheaton, into his guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wheaton keeping moving, preventing Die from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wheaton had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Die defends it easily. Wheaton keeping moving, preventing Die from controlling successfully. Die advances to half guard. Wheaton is not content to let Die control the position. Wheaton is looking to improve his position.
Wheaton is trying to control but Die passes into side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Die looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Jaykke Wheaton has got the better of the ground game so far. Wheaton sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Die looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Wheaton is pressing down on Die's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Wheaton trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Die trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Wheaton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wheaton trying to control from half guard but Die is working away. Wheaton is figuring out what he wants to do next. Wheaton working over Die with some ground and pound. Die looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Wheaton trying to control from Die's half guard. Die has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Die not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Wheaton landing some decent shots from guard. Wheaton wants to control from the top but Die keeps moving. Wheaton tries to free his leg and advance position but Die is retaining full guard. Wheaton loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Wheaton must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Die has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wheaton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Wheaton lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Wheaton cracks Die with a solid left hand. Die trying to keep a closed guard but Wheaton is proving a slippery customer.
Die can't keep his opponent in guard - Wheaton advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Nice strikes from Wheaton there. Die tries to roll over but Wheaton keeps him under control. Wheaton throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wheaton connects with a nice short shot to Die's temple. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Wheaton is looking to take a break and control but Die is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jaykke Wheaton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Wheaton is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Die. Wheaton closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Wheaton scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Die is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Wheaton can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
