Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Batista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Otsuka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Batista comes into the arena with I WALK ALONE blaring out of the sound system. Otsuka is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Justice - Civilization. Alexander Otsuka has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dave Batista! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alexander Otsuka! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Shimada and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Batista gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Otsuka decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Batista's guard. Otsuka wants to control from the top but Batista keeps moving. Otsuka content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Batista lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Otsuka! Otsuka is trying to escape the mount.
Batista unloads with some shots from mount but Otsuka bucks and avoids them well.
Otsuka wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Batista.

That's one minute gone in the round. Otsuka tries to lock up and control but Batista gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Batista with a couple of short strikes. Batista is landing with some decent strikes but Otsuka is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Batista prevents Otsuka from getting the reversal. Otsuka wants to hold on but Batista pushes him away. Otsuka tries to improve his position but instead Batista has taken his back! Batista missing with strikes. Otsuka tries to roll but Batista sticks to his back.
Batista doesn't have the hooks in and Otsuka manages to turn into his guard.
Otsuka is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Otsuka showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Batista keeping moving, preventing Otsuka from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Otsuka stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Batista swivels though and keeps the full guard. Otsuka chips away with some ground and pound. Batista avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Otsuka keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Batista's head. Batista working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Otsuka doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Otsuka manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Batista not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Otsuka tries to free his leg and advance position but Batista is retaining full guard. Otsuka scoring with punches to the head and body. Batista is trying to control the position but Otsuka postures up. Otsuka trying to control the position from guard on top but Batista is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Otsuka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Batista. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The ref stands the fighters back up because Dave Batista just wasn't active enough. Batista shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Otsuka counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Batista is breathing heavily. Otsuka lands a couple of elbows. Batista being controlled here, momentarily. Otsuka works a leg free and moves into half guard. Otsuka is keen to just control but Batista is a slippery customer. Otsuka is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Otsuka trying to control the action but Batista is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Otsuka winds up and cracks Batista with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Batista holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Batista actively working from the bottom here. Otsuka keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Otsuka lands strikes from half guard. Otsuka thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Batista's head. Otsuka seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Batista does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Otsuka working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Otsuka is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Otsuka connects with a nice short shot to Batista's temple. Otsuka fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Batista to the ground. Otsuka is now in Batista's guard. Batista utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Batista tries to strike from the bottom.
Otsuka slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Batista manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's one minute gone in the round. Otsuka is desperately trying to improve his position but Batista has a good base and remains in mount. Otsuka is trying to reverse the position but instead Batista has taken his back - oops! I really don't envy Otsuka right now.
Otsuka prevents Batista from getting a body triangle. Batista lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Otsuka is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Batista will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Batista goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Otsuka turns into him and now he's in Batista's guard.

Otsuka must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Batista controls Otsuka momentarily but Otsuka frees himself. Otsuka avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The fight stays on the outside here - Batista looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Otsuka showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Batista.
