Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marlon Kooch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric Hartin! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kooch looks to score with a jab to the body but Hartin is just out of range. Hartin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Kooch tries to clinch and Hartin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kooch's guard. Hartin wants to pass the guard but Kooch is keeping the position. Hartin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kooch works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kooch working a defensive guard here.
Hartin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hartin preventing the sweep. Kooch is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hartin is aware though and is defending well. Hartin connects with a couple of short punches. Hartin trying to control the position from guard on top but Kooch is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kooch looking to control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kooch misses with a leg kick so Hartin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Hartin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kooch is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hartin, into his guard. Kooch wants to stand but Hartin has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hartin has control of Kooch's left arm, preventing Kooch from doing any damage. Kooch postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hartin holds on and takes a little breather. Kooch prevents Hartin from getting back to his feet. Kooch wants to control from the top but Hartin keeps moving.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Eric Hartin hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Kooch takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Kooch has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Marlon Kooch has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kooch throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hartin sees it coming and avoids it easily. Hartin is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kooch's half guard. Hartin wants to get back to his feet.
Kooch wants to get back to full guard. Hartin controlling the action here. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hartin lands a nice short elbow. Kooch is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hartin is trying to control. Kooch wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Hartin takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Hartin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kooch does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Hartin works his way into full mount! BOOM! Hartin connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Hartin looking to finish Kooch with some ground and pound. This is bad for Kooch! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hartin cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Hartin looking to control but Kooch is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Kooch tries to get back to half guard but can't. Hartin controlling from mount. Kooch really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A nice elbow there by Hartin. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hartin frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Kooch is squirming around, avoiding Hartin's attempts to control the action. Hartin unloading with bombs!

Eric Hartin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Marlon Kooch's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Hartin pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hartin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Marlon Kooch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hartin ducks under a wild hook from Kooch. Hartin throws a sloppy head kick enabling Kooch to counter with a crisp jab. Hartin goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Kooch looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Kooch tries to land a front kick but Hartin steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Kooch lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hartin at a distance.
Hartin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kooch swats away the attempt to clinch by Hartin. Hartin lands a jab. Kooch scores with a shot to the body.

Kooch walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Hartin checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Kooch lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Kooch throws a nice looking combination but Hartin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hartin feints and as Kooch raises his hands in defense, Hartin changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hartin wants to control from the top but Kooch keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kooch is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Hartin tries to get to full guard but Kooch has control of the leg. Kooch thows a huge punch but Hartin dodges it nicely.

Kooch is trying to control the action in half guard but Hartin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Hartin is trying to stand back up but Kooch is controlling him

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Hartin gets full guard. Kooch is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hartin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hartin has escaped and now he's on top! Kooch trying to keep a closed guard but Hartin is proving a slippery customer.
Hartin has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Hartin tries to free his leg and advance position but Kooch is retaining full guard. Hartin with a nice head shot there. Hartin stopping the sweep attempt from Kooch. Kooch controls Hartin momentarily but Hartin frees himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kooch keeping moving, preventing Hartin from controlling successfully. Kooch bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hartin's guard. Hartin is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kooch is aware though and is defending well. Kooch wants to control from the top but Hartin keeps moving. And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Eric Hartin. Well Hartin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
