The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaines tries for a takedown but Ninneman circles away easily
and Ninneman counters with a straight right hand.
Gaines slips a jab from Ninneman.
Ninneman misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ninneman swings for the body but Gaines moves out of range.
Gaines throws a leg kick but Ninneman sees it coming and moves out of range.
Ninneman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gaines fails with the takedown.
Gaines has a takedown stuffed.
Janne Ninneman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jamie Gaines.
Some wild striking there from Ninneman.
Gaines misses with a lunging right hand
and Ninneman counters with a stiff right hand.
Gaines takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

and Ninneman counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Gaines throws a looping overhand right but Ninneman ducks down to avoid it.
Gaines dives in and scores a takedown into Ninneman's guard.

Gaines is looking to work some ground and pound but Ninneman has wrist control.
Gaines drops back looking for a leg! Ninneman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ninneman manages to kick Gaines off! Gaines jumps back into Ninneman's guard.
Ninneman trying to keep a closed guard but Gaines is proving a slippery customer.
Ninneman wants to sweep here but Gaines controlling him for the moment.
Gaines trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Gaines drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gaines jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gaines wants to pass the guard but Ninneman is keeping the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Gaines drops back looking for a leg! Ninneman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ninneman manages to kick Gaines off! Gaines jumps back into Ninneman's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ninneman is on top in guard.
Gaines is looking for a triangle but Ninneman pushes his legs off easily.
Ninneman has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Gaines looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ninneman trying to stand up but can't free himself from Gaines's guard.

Gaines trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Gaines pushes a forearm under Ninneman's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Ninneman is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
