Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kensei Takudome! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Money Machine! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Machine shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Machine slows the pace down in half guard. Machine thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Takudome's head. Takudome could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Machine missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Still in half guard, Machine seems content to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Machine's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Machine is looking for a kimura here.
Takudome actively working from the bottom here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takudome looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Machine has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Takudome is squirming around, avoiding Machine's attempts to control the action. Machine unloads with some shots from mount but Takudome bucks and avoids them well.
Takudome is looking to get to half guard. Takudome is working hard here to advance position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Takudome is in a horrible position here. Machine smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
It looks like Kensei Takudome has been cut. Machine looking to control but Takudome is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Machine controlling the position easily from mount. Machine lands a big shot there that rocks Takudome but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Kensei Takudome's cut is getting worse. Takudome working to try and regain half guard.
Machine lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Takudome hang on?
Kensei Takudome's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Machine controlling the position easily from mount. Machine connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Jeez, Kensei Takudome's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kensei Takudome's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
