Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Niwa looks to clinch

and Dude counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Dude.

Dude got a little sloppy there for a moment and Niwa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dude has managed to get both his arms back between Niwa's legs - danger averted.

Niwa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dude gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
It looks like Niwa might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Dude is wriggling around trying to escape.

Niwa is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Dude to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Dude shrugs it off.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Niwa shoots for a double leg takedown but Dude sprawls well. He's pushed Niwa's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Niwa is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Dude gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Justin Dude has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Niwa.
Dude is pressed up against the cage. Niwa has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dude down to the mat. Dude avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
