Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Special Ed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Askern (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Special Ed! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ben Askern! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ed gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Askern counters with a good, hard body kick but Ed shrugs it off. A momentary lapse in concentration from Askern enables Ed to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Askern manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Ed has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Askern utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Askern pulls Ed in close to prevent any damage. Askern is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Ed has a hand on Askern's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Askern takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Askern controlling the position easily from mount. Askern's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Ed is trying desperately to improve position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Askern content just to control the position here. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Askern cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Askern is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Ed is surviving well by controlling Askern's body position as best he can. Askern tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Ed can't escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Askern pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Askern is landing with some decent strikes but Ed is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Askern looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Ed is looking to get to half guard. Ed looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Ed tries to break free.
Askern softening up his opponent with strikes here.
Askern trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Ed doesn't escape. Askern is not going to allow Ed to sit and survive in this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ed is really stuck here.
Ed trying to control the hands but Askern won't let him. Askern is hanging on to Ed's back as he tries to escape.
Askern has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Askern looks gassed! Askern is punishing Ed with strikes - can he finish him?! Ed can't escape the position.
Ed is trapped and Askern is scoring with shots to the head and body. Ed is really stuck here.
Askern avoiding Ed 's attempts to control his hands. Ed tries to break free.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. The referee is taking a good look at Ed as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Askern!
Askern not allowing Ed to control his hands. Ed tries to escape but Askern has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Askern lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Askern.
Askern has managed to slip his arm under Ed's chin. This could be all over... yep, Ed is tapping out! Submission win for Askern.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ben Askern!
