Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Chuck Fiddel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Scott Smith! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fiddel throws a right and a left that both miss. Smith throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Smith drives through with a takedown into Fiddel's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Fiddel preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smith loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Smith's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Fiddel is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Smith postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Smith stands up from guard. Let's bang! Fiddel throws a combination that misses and Smith decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fiddel's guard. Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fiddel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Fiddel is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Smith is controlling him. Smith thows a big elbow that misses. Smith throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Smith thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Smith is posturing up here but Fiddel has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Smith tries to roll out but it's too tight and Smith has to tap! Slick submission there by Fiddel!
