PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chun The Dragon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Bones Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bones Jr is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Rock n Roll. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chun The Dragon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Roy Bones Jr!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The Dragon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bones Jr looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Bones Jr is being controlled here.
The Dragon throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
The Dragon is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Bones Jr will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Bones Jr tries to buck The Dragon off but The Dragon is having none of it.

The Dragon decides to stand back up. The Dragon steps back and let's Bones Jr get back to his feet.
The Dragon tries a head kick but it misses.
Bones Jr keeps the fight on the outside.
Bones Jr rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but The Dragon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A solid leg kick lands there for The Dragon.
The Dragon is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
The Dragon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
The Dragon tries a head kick but it misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The Dragon throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bones Jr was covering up waiting for the punch and The Dragon finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The Dragon thows a big elbow that misses.
Bones Jr working a defensive guard here.
The Dragon sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bones Jr's guard.
Bones Jr wants to get back to his feet.
The Dragon looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Bones Jr is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute The Dragon jumps into side control!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The Dragon decides to stand back up.
Bones Jr throws a leg kick

and The Dragon decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bones Jr's guard.
Bones Jr looks gassed!
The Dragon sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The Dragon with a flurry of punches that miss.
Bones Jr keeping moving, preventing The Dragon from controlling successfully.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The Dragon stands up and waves to Bones Jr to follow him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The Dragon pushes Bones Jr up against the cage in a clinch.
The Dragon blocking some punches.
The Dragon is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Bones Jr pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Bones Jr wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Bones Jr wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

The Dragon is trying to trip Bones Jr. He has hold of a leg but Bones Jr is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. The Dragon persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The Dragon pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bones Jr is keeping the position for now.
The Dragon's corner is telling him to maintain position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The Dragon stands up and waves to Bones Jr to follow him.
Jab, jab by Bones Jr - just one landing.
Bones Jr looks to land a combination. The Dragon sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Bones Jr scores with a hook to the body. The Dragon takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
The Dragon throws a head kick that misses.

The Dragon closes the distance and clinches.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The Dragon gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bones Jr can do anything to dispel that myth.
The Dragon wants to control from the top but Bones Jr keeps moving.
The Dragon is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bones Jr is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chun The Dragon dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Bones Jr connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Bones Jr throws a half hearted mid kick.

The Dragon rushes Bones Jr and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
The Dragon keeps control of Bones Jr as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Bones Jr is looking to break free of the clinch but The Dragon has double underhooks.

The Dragon is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Bones Jr can't fight it off and eventually The Dragon manages to take the fight to the floor. Bones Jr looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The Dragon won't allow Bones Jr to get back to his feet.
Bones Jr looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The Dragon stands up from guard. Let's bang!

The Dragon closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Bones Jr is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The Dragon decides to return to a standing position.

The Dragon has taken the fight to the clinch.

The Dragon lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

The Dragon seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Bones Jr is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Chun The Dragon!
