Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Frankie McNasty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Frankie McNasty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rob Pain!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, William Gold and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McNasty throws a good cross that connects.

McNasty decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
McNasty throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Well, if McNasty is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
McNasty wants to take a breather but Pain is having none of it.
Pain trying to control here.
McNasty is tying to control. Pain wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pain takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

McNasty gets a takedown into half guard.
Pain has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McNasty is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pain is looking to control McNasty's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pain avoid being mounted?
McNasty is pressing down on Pain's thigh, looking to free his foot. Pain is holding on for now.

Pain is trying to maintain the position but McNasty is very close to passing his half guard.
McNasty knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pain on the ground.
McNasty wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pain keeps working.

Pain looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

McNasty scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

McNasty is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Pain doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time McNasty.

McNasty seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
McNasty wants to control but Pain is keeping him busy.

McNasty postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Pain to stand up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

McNasty gets a takedown into half guard.
McNasty sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Pain defending well though.
Pain is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of McNasty's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take McNasty's back!
Pain scores with punches and elbows.
Pain is working the ground and pound. Can McNasty escape?
McNasty tries to escape the position.
Pain throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
Pain controlling well, preventing McNasty from escaping the position.

McNasty is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Pain gets his way!

Pain is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. McNasty is defending well though. Pain let's go of the attempt for now.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



McNasty has taken the fight to the clinch.
McNasty stalling the fight.
Pain goes for a takedown attempt but McNasty pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

McNasty rushes Pain and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Pain jumps guard and drags McNasty to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Pain looking to control.

McNasty stands up from guard. Let's bang!

McNasty shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than McNasty was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

McNasty's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Pain tries to reverse the position but McNasty maintains control.
McNasty avoids the attempt from Pain to control.
Pain is breathing heavily.

McNasty jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Pain is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Pain and McNasty has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
McNasty is looking to take a break and control but Pain is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Pain manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Pain works his way to full guard. Good work.
Pain wants to improve his position but instead McNasty has moved into half guard.

McNasty stalling away here and it's allowed Pain to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Pain is looking to stand up but McNasty isn't so interested in that idea.
Frankie McNasty overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
McNasty is pushing down on Pain's leg trying to pass to half guard. Pain is fighting to maintain full guard but McNasty has managed to sneak the leg through.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pain wants to clinch up but McNasty keeps it at a distance.

McNasty pushes Pain up against the cage in a clinch.
McNasty stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Pain changes levels and goes for a takedown here. McNasty fights it off and pushes away nicely.
McNasty is looking to clinch.
Pain shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Frankie McNasty has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rob Pain.
Pain moves out of range of the leg kick from McNasty.

Pain has his foot on McNasty's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McNasty works his way back into a safe position though.

McNasty decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

McNasty rushes Pain and presses him up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Pain wants to get back to full guard.
Pain is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

McNasty throws a quick inside leg kick.

McNasty moves into the clinch successfully.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Pain can't break the clinch.
Pain takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

McNasty jumps into guard, dragging Pain to the mat.
McNasty is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
McNasty not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
McNasty manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pain manages to get himself to full guard.
McNasty wants to control from the top but Pain keeps moving.

Pain isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. McNasty stacks Pain on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by McNasty!

McNasty wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pain, who protects the arm well.

Pain is looking to escape.

McNasty seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

McNasty drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

McNasty swings around for an armbar but Pain sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into McNasty's guard.

McNasty slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

McNasty wants to get up but he can't break Pain's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Rob Pain has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

McNasty closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Well McNasty has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
