Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy McNasty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ian McShame (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ian McShame has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy McNasty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Ian McShame!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McShame avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
McShame is looking to chop away at McNasty's legs.
McNasty shoots in looking for a takedown. McShame tries to sprawl out of it but McNasty keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McShame manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

McNasty drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
McNasty slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

McNasty thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
McShame is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
McShame is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
McNasty is staying tight to McShame's torso, preventing him from escaping.

That's one minute gone in the round.

McNasty is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but McShame is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

McNasty is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, McShame has escaped the position, nice work there.
McNasty is breathing heavily.
A control attempt from McShame but he's now mounted!
McNasty trying to control but he's not successful this time.
McNasty blocks McShame's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
McShame is wriggling around trying to escape.

McNasty swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and McShame is now in McNasty's guard. A big mistake from McNasty there, giving up the dominant position!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McNasty wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and McShame is now in half guard.
McShame wants to lay and pray for a moment but McNasty keeps working.
McNasty is looking for a sweep. McShame is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
McShame trying to control the action but McNasty is working from the bottom.
McNasty wants to sweep but McShame has passed to side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A lull in the action here as McShame stalls from top position.
McShame postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McNasty is not content to let McShame control the position.
The strikes coming from McShame are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
McShame doesn't succeed with the takedown

so McNasty counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
McNasty preventing the sweep.
McShame thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
McShame will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

McNasty is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McNasty postures up.
McNasty passes easily into side control. Nice work.
McNasty is putting a hurting on McShame here, landing some big shots from side control.
McShame is trying to improve his position.

McShame is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on McNasty's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for McNasty! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and McShame has tapped! This one is allllll over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Jimmy McNasty!
