Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gracie Rabi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Olu Olajide!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rabi clinches.

Rabi manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Olajide won't allow Rabi to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Olajide stands up and waves to Rabi to follow him.
Olajide tries for a takedown but Rabi circles away easily

and Rabi counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rabi.
Rabi prevents the takedown attempt.
Olajide tries to score a body lock takedown but Rabi shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Gracie Rabi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Olu Olajide.

Rabi gets control of Olajide's arms and successfully pulls guard. Rabi will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Rabi pushes Olajide off and scrambles back to his feet.

Rabi shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rabi showed some decent athleticism there.

Rabi is looking for a kimura here.

Rabi wants to stand but Olajide has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Rabi trying to mount his opponent but Olajide defends it.
Rabi takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Rabi tries to pass the half guard into mount. Olajide knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Rabi is trying to work for a kimura but Olajide is defending well.

Rabi is working for a submission of some sort.
Rabi is pressing down on Olajide's thigh, looking to free his foot. Olajide is holding on for now.

Rabi content to control rather than advance.
Olajide is trying to stand back up but Rabi is controlling him
Rabi thows a huge punch but Olajide dodges it nicely.
Rabi is keen to just control but Olajide is a slippery customer.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Gracie Rabi wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Rabi clinches up against the cage.
Rabi wants to break the clinch but can't.
Olajide is working for takedown but Rabi is calmly controlling the position for now.
Rabi doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Olajide breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Olajide shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rabi is trying to defend but Olajide finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Olajide is looking for a kimura but Rabi is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Olajide to get the leverage.
Rabi gets full guard.
Olajide trying to control but Rabi is working from the bottom.

Rabi looking for a guillotine here but Olajide defends easily.
Rabi is adopting a defensive guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Rabi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Olajide sprawls well initially but Rabi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Rabi wants to work for an arm triangle but Olajide is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Olajide trying to control from the bottom.
Olajide might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Rabi kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Rabi wants to free his trapped foot but Olajide is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Rabi tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Olu Olajide hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Rabi throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Olajide was covering up waiting for the punch and Rabi finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Rabi looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Olajide not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rabi postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Olajide looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rabi is one step ahead there.
Olajide is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Rabi stands and throws Olajide's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The referee asks Rabi politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Rabi prefers to stall for the moment though.
Rabi postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Olajide is trying to improve his position.
Rabi takes a little break here. Olajide wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Olajide stops Rabi from passing to mount.
Rabi is staying tight to Olajide's torso, preventing him from escaping.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rabi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Olajide keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gracie Rabi dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Olajide has his takedown stuffed

and Rabi counters with a nice double leg into side control. Olajide won't be happy with that.
Olajide struggling a bit here.
Rabi postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Olajide gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Olajide is looking to improve his position.
Rabi is taking a breather. Olajide says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Olajide is controlling Rabi's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Gracie Rabi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rabi trying to mount his opponent but Olajide defends it.
Rabi stalling.
Rabi passes to side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The referee asks Rabi politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Rabi prefers to stall for the moment though.
Olajide is looking for a sweep.

Rabi working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Olajide is trying to improve his position.

Olajide is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Olajide is not content to let Rabi control the position.

Rabi goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Olajide rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Rabi's guard! Nice work there by Olajide!
Rabi is pulling down on Olajide's head to control his posture.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Olajide looking to sit in guard and control but Rabi gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Rabi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Olu Olajide has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Gracie Rabi showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rabi, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
