Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Silas Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ernesto Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alvarez has chosen El Condor Pasa by CantoAndino as his entrance music. Silas Storm has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Storm looks to land a right hand but Alvarez moved out of range. Alvarez misses with a takedown attempt and Storm counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Nice defenses there by Alvarez. Alvarez swings widly with a right hand
and Storm counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Storm missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Alvarez regains full guard. Nicely done. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Alvarez can do anything to dispel that myth. Storm scoring with punches to the head and body. Storm working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Alvarez's head. Storm looking to pass the guard. Storm is working Alvarez over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Storm loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Storm postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Alvarez is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Storm, into his guard. Storm wants to sweep here but Alvarez controlling him for the moment. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alvarez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Storm had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Alvarez defends it easily. Storm has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Storm looking for a guillotine here but Alvarez defends easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Storm has momentary wrist control but Alvarez slips an elbow through the middle. Storm tries to land a sweep but no joy. Storm is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Alvarez lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Storm! Alvarez lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Alvarez unloading with bombs! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Storm is in a horrible position here. Alvarez smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Storm tries to reverse the position but Alvarez maintains control. Alvarez cracks Storm with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alvarez pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Alvarez raining down hammerfists from mount. Storm keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Storm bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ernesto Alvarez dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Storm misses the jab. Alvarez tries to clinch but Storm is having none of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A shot to the body from Storm misses and Alvarez counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Alvarez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Alvarez wants to control from the top but Storm keeps moving. Storm trying to control the position.
Storm is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Alvarez trying to control but Storm is working from the bottom. Alvarez looking to pass the guard. Storm working for a triangle but Alvarez defends it easily.
