Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Barry Robson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ian Seed! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Robson closes the distance but Seed moves to the side and Seed counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Robson thinking. Robson tries to clinch but Seed moves away and Seed counters by clinching up. Robson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Seed works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Seed passes Robson's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Seed looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Robson is trying to escape back to his feet but Seed uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Seed thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Seed is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Robson has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Robson is pushing Seed's head away, looking to escape. Seed manages to hold on to the position though. Seed tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Seed has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Robson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Seed has knee on belly and moves into mount. Robson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Robson tries to get out of the position. Robson is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Robson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Seed on the ground. Robson is breathing heavily. Robson is squirming around, avoiding Seed's attempts to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Robson tries to buck Seed off but he can't manage it. Seed looking for a guillotine from mount but Robson is having none of it. Seed jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Robson manages to avoid the submission attempt. Seed tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Seed decides to stand up, so the ref orders Robson to his feet. Robson misses with a double jab
and Seed counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Robson's guard now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Seed stands up from guard. Let's bang! Robson tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Seed decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Seed has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Seed decides to return to a standing position. Robson tries to clinch but Seed moves away and Seed counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Robson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Seed ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Seed no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Robson wants to get up but he can't break Seed's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Robson stands up from Seed's guard - Robson perhaps looking for a knockout. Seed looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Ian Seed has got the better of the ground game so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Seed decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Robson, up you get!

Robson darts in trying to clinch and Seed counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Robson tries to kick Seed off in order to stand up. Seed Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Seed has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Robson is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Seed yanks on the arm and Robson is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Seed.
