Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Lynott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Kerns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lynott comes to the cage accompanied by Out in the Fields. The key to victory for Phil Lynott has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Phil Lynott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jake Kerns! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Radbod Blank and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kerns fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lynott sprawls well initially but Kerns persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Lynott wants to get back to his feet.
Kerns should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Lynott wants to get back to full guard. Kerns looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kerns is controlling the pace.
Let's hope that Kerns has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Lynott is trying to stand.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Kerns has eaten all the pies!
That's one minute gone in the round. Lynott preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Jake Kerns hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Lynott shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kerns sprawls well. Kerns wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lynott gets slowly back to his feet. Lynott tries to bum rush Kerns with a series of wild strikes but Kerns uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Kerns tries to move into range but Lynott moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. A nice combination there by Lynott.
Lynott connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Kerns drives through with a takedown into Lynott's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Kerns wants to control from the top but Lynott keeps moving. Lynott wants to stand and escape but Kerns is having none of it. Kerns trying to control the position from guard on top but Lynott is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kerns has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lynott is proving hard to escape from.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Lynott uses the cage to get back to his feet.
No joy there for Kerns, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kerns scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lynott wants to get back to his feet. Lynott is not content to let Kerns control the position. Kerns has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Lynott works to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lynott is looking to stand up but Kerns isn't so interested in that idea. Kerns wants to pass the guard but Lynott is keeping the position. Kerns stops Lynott from standing up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kerns stands and steps away. Lynott gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Lynott scores with a hook to the body. Kerns takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Kerns shoots in and drives through. Lynott sprawls well. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lynott. Lynott throws a one two combo.

Lynott pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Kerns back to the cage. Lynott follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Kerns swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lynott lands with a nice body punch. Kerns wants to clinch up but Lynott keeps it at a distance. Kerns looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Kerns tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lynott sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kerns somewhat. Lynott looks for a takedown but Kerns sprawls well. Lynott stuns Kerns with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Lynott throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Kerns stuffs the takedown. A left lands for Lynott. Lynott lands with a straight right. Kerns didn't see that one coming. Lynott lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Lynott looks for a takedown but Kerns sprawls well. Kerns leaves Lynott with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Lynott shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kerns as he jumps to the side. Lynott is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Kerns's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Lynott connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kerns scrambles back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lynott keeps the fight on the outside. Lynott scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kerns doesn't seem bothered though. Lynott connects with a single shot there. Lynott thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Kerns if he has to take too many more of those.
Kerns walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Kerns is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A nice inside leg kick there by Lynott. That's going to slow Kerns down. A left lands for Lynott. Good shot there by Lynott. Lynott moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Lynott is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Lynott lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Phil Lynott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lynott connects with a body shot that sends Kerns's belly button to the back. Kerns takes one on the chin but seems OK.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lynott shoots in looking for a takedown but Kerns manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lynott's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Nice uppercut there from Lynott. Lynott lands a nice hook to Kerns's body. Kerns takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Lynott cracks Kerns with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Lynott uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Phil Lynott is winning the standup battle so far. Lynott thuds his right hand into Kerns's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Kerns keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Lynott works Kerns's body with a nice hook. Lynott feints a jab promting Kerns to slip. Lynott then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Kerns slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Lynott lands with an uppercut that bounces Kerns off the cage and back into rage. Lynott lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Lynott. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lynott cracks Kerns with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Lynott is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. A jab lands there for Lynott. Lynott feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Kerns's calf. Kerns takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Lynott lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Lynott bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kerns's head. Lynott scores with a jab. Kerns has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. A chopping leg kick lands by Lynott. Lynott lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Kerns takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Lynott scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Lynott lands a head kick!
Kerns has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Lynott finds it's way round the side to connect with Kerns's head. Lynott connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kerns's hands. Lynott lands a high kick!
A jab lands there for Lynott. Lynott connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Lynott connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Lynott uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Jake Kerns is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lynott lands with an overhand left. Kerns moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Lynott!

Is there anything that Kerns can do to turn this around? Kerns gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Kerns takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Lynott throws a quick inside leg kick. Lynott throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kerns stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Lynott moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Lynott shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kerns but Kerns pushes him off and we're back to square one. Lynott scoring well with a low kick there.

This has been an exciting period of action! Lynott scores with a jab. Lynott misses with a takedown attempt - Kerns sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Kerns missing with a left hand there. Lynott was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Lynott fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kerns has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Lynott scores with a three punch combo!

Kerns's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Lynott uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Lynott jabs Kerns right on the nose. Kerns blinks but takes it well. Lynott jabs at Kerns's body. Lynott scores with a jab. Lynott scores with a three punch combo!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kerns doesn't manage to clinch there - Lynott circles away.

Lynott with a lazy takedown attempt and Kerns counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lynott won't be happy with that. Lynott is trying to buck Kerns off. Lynott on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lynott tries to get out of the position. Lynott gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Phil Lynott is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kerns lands a nice shot to the head. Kerns is working for a guillotine from mount but Lynott frees his head quite easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lynott is trying to stand up. Kerns takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Kerns prevents Lynott from getting the reversal. Lynott takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Lynott is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight! Phil Lynott showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lynott, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
