PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ray Munch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Albert Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hall has chosen Mama Said Knock You Out as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Albert Hall was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Ray Munch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Albert Hall!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Sam Margolis and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hall displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Munch throws out the jab.
Hall wants to slow Munch down by chopping away at his legs.
Hall throws a shot from downtown. Munch moves away and avoids it.
Munch falls off balance throwing a combination
and Hall counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Hall tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Hall fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Munch manages to avoid it.
Munch fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hall avoids it really well and circles away.
Munch takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Hall on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Munch rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hall counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Munch looks to land a right hand but Hall moved out of range.
Albert Hall is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hall misses with a combination
and Munch counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hall connects with the punch.
Munch has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hall finds it's way round the side to connect with Munch's head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Munch doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Munch ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Hall is looking to clinch but Munch is avoiding it.
Hall throws a sloppy head kick and Munch moves out of range easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Munch.

Munch misses with a hook
and Hall counters with a left and a right that stings Munch.
Munch missing with a left hand there. Hall was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Munch throws a jab when Hall was well out of range.
Hall slips under a jab from Munch.
Munch misses with a body shot.
Hall falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Munch to counter with a crisp jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hall throws a hook but Munch blocks it.
Munch swings widly with a right hand
and Hall counters with a head kick. That will keep Munch thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Munch rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hall moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hall takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Hall tries to clinch but Munch is having none of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hall throws a low kick, looking for Munch's leg but Munch calmly moves out of range.
Munch throws a right and a left that Hall avoids nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Albert Hall dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Munch goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Albert Hall is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Munch walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Hall moves into the clinch.
Munch tries a body shot but Hall blocks it.
Hall lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Hall lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Munch wants a takedown but no success here.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hall.

Munch pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Munch throws a right hand that misses
and Hall counters with a left and a right that stings Munch.
Hall misses with a right hand
and Munch counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Munch makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Hall slips under a jab from Munch.
Munch scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Munch is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Munch throws a lazy uppercut
and Munch takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hall throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Munch throws a lazy right hand but Hall sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Hall misses with a jab to the body
and Munch counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hall looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Hall misses with a lunging right hand
and Munch connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Hall tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Munch paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hall falls off balance throwing a combination
letting Munch counter with a right hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Horrible takedown by Munch or perhaps it was just good defense by Hall which made him look bad.
Munch takes a swing at Hall's ribcage but misses.
Munch closes the distance and clinches up with Hall, looking for a takedown. Munch pushes Hall against the cage but Hall circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ray Munch. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Munch lands with a straight right. Hall didn't see that one coming.
Munch jabs Hall to the body, keeping him at a distance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Munch throws an off balance right hand
letting Hall counter with a right hand.
Munch cracks Hall with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Munch misses with a left hand
and Hall counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Munch feints and as Hall raises his hands in defense, Munch changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Munch trying to control the position from guard on top but Hall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hall wants to control but Munch passes easily into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Albert Hall showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Munch throws a hook to the side of Hall's head but Hall sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

and Munch counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Munch tries to work over Hall's front leg with a kick but Hall checks it.
Hall has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Hall stuffs the takedown.

Munch throws a good cross that connects.
Hall keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Hall takes a body punch but keeps moving.

and Hall counters with a slapping leg kick.
Hall throws a poor cross that misses

and Munch counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hall misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Munch is trying to control the action in half guard but Hall is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Munch perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Munch is looking to stall here but Hall recovers full guard.
Albert Hall is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Munch working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Munch trying to control the position from guard on top but Hall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Munch won't allow Hall to get back to his feet.
Munch throwing strikes from guard but Hall blocks nicely.
Munch prevents Hall from getting back to his feet.
Munch thows a big elbow that misses.

Munch missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Munch sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Munch seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hall for as long as he can get away with.
Hall utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Munch trying to control but Hall is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ray Munch just wasn't active enough.

and Hall counters with a head kick. That will keep Munch thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Munch connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hall. Hall circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Munch has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Munch rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hall counters with a three punch combo that has Munch backing up. Munch nods at Hall to acknowledge the strikes.

And that's the end of the fight!
Albert Hall comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Hall winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
