Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mariano Ozawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and BJ Longwe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Longwe has chosen Solo as his entrance music. BJ Longwe will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mariano Ozawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, BJ Longwe!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Longwe instigates a clinch.
Longwe lands a nice shot to the body.
A right hand to the body from Longwe.
Longwe tries to score a body lock takedown but Ozawa shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Ozawa lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Longwe or not.
Ozawa wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Longwe has him pressed against the cage.
Longwe displaying some good clinch control by pressing Ozawa up against the cage.
Longwe lands a left hand.

Longwe is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Ozawa letting Longwe take a breather here.

Longwe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ozawa tries to clinch but Longwe moves away
and Longwe counters with a nice kick to the body.
Ozawa is breathing heavily.
Longwe fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ozawa looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Longwe scores with a takedown into Ozawa's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Longwe tries to free his leg and advance position but Ozawa is retaining full guard.
Longwe missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Longwe scoring with punches to the head and body.
Longwe must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Longwe is looking to work some ground and pound but Ozawa has wrist control.

Longwe stands up from Ozawa's guard - Longwe perhaps looking for a knockout.
Longwe scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Longwe shoots in and gets a takedown into Ozawa's guard.
Ozawa might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Longwe trying to control the position from guard on top but Ozawa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Longwe stops Ozawa from standing up.

Longwe gets to his feet. Ozawa looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Longwe throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Ozawa's head.

Longwe closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Longwe breaks the clinch.
Ozawa tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Longwe counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Longwe throws a big right hand that misses.
Longwe wants to stand and escape but instead Ozawa has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Longwe uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Ozawa tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Longwe counters by moving into the clinch.
Ozawa is pressed up against the cage. Longwe has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ozawa down to the mat. Ozawa avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Ozawa throws a left and a right that both miss

and Longwe counters with a single leg into guard. Ozawa didn't expect that.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ozawa kicks Longwe off and gets to his feet.

and Longwe counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Longwe.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Longwe wanted to stand there but Ozawa had control of the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mariano Ozawa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Longwe shoots in and bounces Ozawa off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Ozawa stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ozawa wants it to stay on the feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ozawa wants to clinch but Longwe slips to the side

and Longwe counters with a single leg into guard. Ozawa didn't expect that.

Longwe is in close to Ozawa's body, working some short punches and elbows.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ozawa utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Longwe throwing strikes but missing.
Ozawa is looking to stand up but Longwe isn't so interested in that idea.
Longwe wanted to stand there but Ozawa had control of the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Longwe working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Longwe forces his way into half guard.
Longwe landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Longwe is working for a kimura but Ozawa is defending it quite comfortably.
Longwe looks to land a strike but Ozawa avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Longwe postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Longwe throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

BJ Longwe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Ozawa is in a horrible position here. Longwe smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Longwe goes for an armbar but Ozawa turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Ozawa.
Ozawa won't allow Longwe to get back to his feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Ozawa gets to his feet - Longwe follows without any prompting.
Ozawa tries to clinch
and Longwe counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Longwe will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Longwe shoots in for a takedown but Ozawa shows good takedown defense.

Longwe fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ozawa sprawls well initially but Longwe persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Longwe is looking for a kimura here.
Longwe missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Longwe decides to stand and escape the position.
A slapping leg kick lands for Longwe.
Longwe circles away from the clinch attempt

and Longwe counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Longwe thows a huge punch but Ozawa dodges it nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Longwe wants to stand up but Ozawa has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Longwe thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Longwe not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Mariano Ozawa has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Ozawa looking for submissions off his back.
Longwe wants to take a breather but Ozawa is having none of it.

BJ Longwe comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Longwe has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
