Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Arsiano Misasaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jun Akiyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Jun Akiyama enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Arsiano Misasaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jun Akiyama!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Misasaki throws a left and a right that both miss

and Akiyama counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Misasaki is defending against the submission attempts here by Akiyama.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Akiyama in particular looking to stall.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Misasaki looks like he's trying to stand up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Akiyama manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Misasaki manages to get himself to full guard.

Akiyama has hold of Misasaki's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Misasaki manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Akiyama has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Akiyama takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Akiyama postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Misasaki looks a forlorn figure.

Jun Akiyama showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Misasaki's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Misasaki buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

and Akiyama decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Misasaki's guard.
Akiyama prevents Misasaki from getting back to his feet.
Akiyama is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Misasaki wants to stand and escape but Akiyama is having none of it.
Misasaki utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Akiyama connects with a couple of short punches.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Akiyama cracks Misasaki with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Jun Akiyama comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Akiyama winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
