The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Inferno tries to avoid it but James manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Inferno to the ground. Inferno escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Inferno changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. James looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Inferno stands up and we're back to a striking position. The fight moves into the clinch position. Inferno breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A low kick from Inferno misses and James counters by moving into the clinch. James has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Inferno regains guard immediately. Inferno wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Inferno is wriggling around but James manages to pass to half guard.
