Back has chosen One 24 as his entrance music. James Po has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Po takes a swing at Back's ribcage but misses.
Po misses with a left hand
and Back counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Po just misses with a punch to the body.
Po throws a wild body kick that Back sees coming a mile off.
Po throws a big shot that misses.
Back checks a leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Po misses with a left hand
so Back counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Back can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Po is looking to escape.

Silver Back dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Po tries to land a leg kick but Back saw it coming and moves away.

and Back counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Back ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Back takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
James Po seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Back looks to score with a jab to the body but Po is just out of range.
Po throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Back counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Po thinking.
Po thows a body shot but no joy.
Back throws a right hand that misses
and Po counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Po works the jab nicely.
Back throws a good cross that connects.

and Back counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Po lands with an uppercut that bounces Back off the cage and back into rage.
Back showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Po.

and Back counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A looping hook to the body misses from Back. Po does a little dance to reset his feet.
Po throws the left hand but Back avoids the punch easily.
Back checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Po fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Back looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Po throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Po throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Back counters with a nice body shot.
Back slips a straight right by Po.
Po misses with a body shot
and Back counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Back throws a jab but it's blocked by Po.
Back throws a looping overhand right but Po ducks down to avoid it.
Nice jab there from Po.
Po throws a leg kick
and Back counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Back tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Po throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Silver Back will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Po lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Back circles away quickly and effectively.
Po throws a jab but it's blocked by Back.
James Po has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Back looks to land a left hand but Po moved out of range nicely.
The fighters circling - Back throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Back ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Po leaves Back with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
James Po has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Silver Back.
Back connects with a high kick.
Silver Back is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
James Po is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Po throws a series of punches but Back moves out of range.

Po throws a right hand that Back ducks under and follows up with a left that Back also avoids with ease.

and Back connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

and Back counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Back counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Po misses with a two punch combination.
Po throws a poor cross that misses
and Back counters with a slapping leg kick.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

and Back counters with a shoot takedown. Po fights it but they end up in guard.
Back passes Po's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
And that's the end of the fight!
Silver Back comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Back has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
