The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Irokez is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Malakas's half guard.
Irokez looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Malakas gets full guard.
Malakas wants to get back to his feet but Irokez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Malakas pushes Irokez off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Irokez gets the takedown into side control.
Malakas struggling a bit here.
Malakas sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Irokez stops Malakas from getting back to his feet.
Malakas is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Irokez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Irokez's back!
Malakas is cranking Irokez's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Irokez! He's tightened the choke and Irokez is tapping out!
